We're one toxic town!

From AM-NY:

Don’t drink to this: New York City is one of the country’s most toxic towns, according to a Forbes.com survey.

The website ranked the 80 largest metro areas, with New York coming in fourth. Philadelphia, which is considered to have the worst water quality, was at the top of the toxic heap, followed by California cities Bakersfield and Fresno.

Forbes said Gotham has the third-worst water quality nationwide based on the health index it used. The Environmental Working Group, a Washington D.C.-based nonprofit, has identified chemicals in the city’s drinking water that are linked to chronic health problems.

Forbes also looked at air quality, toxic release measures and the number of area Superfund sites, homes to hazardous waste.

Specifically:

New York, N.Y.
MSA: New York-Northern New Jersey-Long Island, N.Y./N.J./Pa.
Number of unhealthy air quality days (2009): 5
Pounds of on-site toxic releases reported (2009): 4.1 million
EWG top water concerns: Total haloacetic acids; dieldrin; total trihalomethanes

Hell, lets move another million people here.

Do not know who is dumb or dumber: the politicans turning your neighborhood and taxes over to the developers or you dear voter, giving them 80% of the vote to do so.

Oh man, I'm drinking 10-16 glasses of water a day straight from the tap. I wonder if Flushing water is more toxic then lets say Upper East Side water.

Well I might as well have kemotherapy ahead of time.

I'll take a cup of fluoride with a side of chemtrail.

I see "Northern NJ" listed there, I wonder if / how that skews the readings. For example, the Oradell Reservoir is basically treated sewage and runoff water.

Not saying that I would drink the water here in NYC, as a matter of fact I don't, I would just like to see the details of how these numbers are built.

Would "Northern NJ" include East Rutherford, Passaic, Paterson, Lodi, etc?

Well I have been drinking filtered
water at home for the last 15 years, but I do live near the freight train
tracks and I know that diesel locomotive fumes are bad for you.

People also throw all kinds of garbage down there.

Would you like your chemtrail with extra barium or aluminum? No charge.

Here we were all worried about the septic tank runoff from all those hick's houses around our water supply

Wait 'till Cheney's "Halliburton loophole" gets done with our Nation's water supply.
