By late summer, New Yorkers seeking to spend the day gambling won't have to risk taking a bus to an out-of-state casino.
Resorts World NY, the planned Aqueduct slots casino, yesterday announced a three-month speedup in development -- with 2,500 video-lottery terminals up and running by late summer.
The accelerated timetable comes days after a Bronx bus crash on I-95 killed 15 passengers returning from Mohegan Sun in Connecticut.
The original Aqueduct plan had called for 1,600 video-lottery terminals in time for the grand opening and the other 2,000 by spring 2012.
Also, a skybridge will link the racino to the A-train station by year's end.
"If you're coming from Chinatown, all you have to do is get on the A train," said Assemblywoman Audrey Pheffer (D-Queens), whose district includes Aqueduct in Ozone Park.

Man, that's some harsh quasi-racist exploitative sentiment there. Audrey, I know they say Asians like to gamble but day-um.
This is better than exporting money to AC or Connecticut. Folks are closer to home and will probably become gambler addicts faster but hey that could occur anyway. Keep the money at home!

LOL, at least they are honest about the dirty addictive Chinese. Although, im sure it would be a much bigger draw for them if they were allowed to chain-smoke inside.

The subway thugs will have a field day mugging the winners on their return to Manhattan.
To avoid this muggery the Racino will be advised to open up an account with the racino and keep their winnings on deposit.
And the losers? Well, they will be forced to have a credit card type of account so the racino can get their cash immediately.
The racino had better register with NY State as a bank.
