Well, what's to love?

From the Daily News:

The snow may have melted but the cold feelings linger: A new poll out Wednesday gives Mayor Bloomberg his lowest approval rating in eight years.

Just 39% of city voters think Bloomberg is doing a good job, while 51% don't, the Quinnipiac University poll found.

Those are the mayor's lowest numbers since July 2003, when Bloomberg raised property taxes and proposed a smoking ban.

The stumble comes after Hizzoner botched the late December blizzard that buried New York for days, stranding ambulances on unplowed streets. The mayor had to hastily fly back to the city from his Bermuda getaway to deal with the crisis.

Bloomberg's advisers had spent the previous year talking him up as a presidential candidate, but that now seems an unlikely path for him, especially with President Obama's approval rebounding to 70% in the city.

No surprise. Too bad more people didn't come to this conclusion about year and a half ago.

There is nothing to love. He bulldozed his way to a third term with Quinn on board with her councilpersons had their term limits jobs extended by 1 term. We are stuck with the worst bunch of corrupt Pols ever. We must restore 2 term limits that can only be rescinded by populist votes.

Can't believe it took people this long to figure out that this guy is a lousy mayor/dictator. We will have corruption for many years to come because we can't get rid of all these criminals in office because he tweaked our term limit laws.

Everyone always hates every Mayor who tries to make changes or has strong opinions. People still hate Giuliani, right? Koch elicited strong feelings, and way back they hated Lindsay. No one remembers Abe Beame or Dinkins or Wagner or anyone else, because they did nothing.

Bloomturd's a criminal, you retard!

Remember, go after City Council - this Frakenstein monster is their creation.

@anonymous who believes people forgot about Dinkins.

You are right he did "nothing" but that is precisely why many voters remember him. His inaction drove away his Democratic base. That is how you get from Giuliani and then unfortunately to Bloomberg.

While it is true that most mayors are hated that try to introduce new ideas, this mayor circumvented the will of the people by paying off a judge to change our term limit laws, which by the way, were voted on twice and passed by the people. This guy is all about the money and his developer friends. He has a hissy fit when he doesn't get his way and has enough money to buy people off, which is something other mayors didn't have.

Good, F* HIM!!! Can't wait until he's gone. I hope the next person turns NYC back into NYC.

If I said it once, I'll say it a hundred times:

I use $100 bills to wipe my ass. Gonna make something of it?

I didn't think so, losers!

PS I'm really not wasting money. Moby Stavisky is more than willing to recycle the bills. She said I have good taste, whatever that means.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Is that why I get my allowance in hundreds?

The people of Queens are so disrespectful. You should have respect for your leaders. I, for one, rely on Claire Shillman very heavily. Stop making fun of her wooden dentures. After all, she's got the nicest mouth I've ever come across. Thanks Claire...and don't forget to wipe your chin. ;-)

Hey, you're forgetting the Golden Age of New York City: the mayoralty of Vincent Impelliteri

Blame city council

They were the ones who created this Frankenstein and unleased him on us.

Sorry but Dinkins was a lazy Manhattan machine creep who allowed his administration to be run by racists, anti semites, and inept personnel. I remember his administration not giving Jewish teachers off the first two days of Passover, which the union never went after, by the way. That had never occurred before. Then some racial problems arose in Brooklyn; the Dinkins administration allowed a racially based controversy to play itself out on the streets with the Korean grocery store fiasco.

If I were Dinkins, I would have been embarrassed to have "haters" like Michael Lynch around.

A great piece in the Sunday edition of NY Post a couple of weeks back succinctly sums up his Seinfeldesque mayoralty: a great big nothing who has created a legacy of debt for future generations of NYers. He has done nothing to create jobs -- Remember, during his campaign, he was pitching his mythical 5- borough jobs program? Whatever happened to that? Guy purchased favorable media coverage for all of these years, which duped people into believing that he was an extraordinarily competent mayor but now, the truth has finally come out that he is nothing but a vastly overrated, incompetent politician whose policies have made this city infinitely more expensive to live in. The "bloom" is finally off this turd.

At least Giuliani knew that he was going out -- cancer and the messy end of his second marriage -- were helpful in directing him to the exit door.

But Bloomberg arrogantly thinks of himself as one of the greatest New York mayors and believes himself to be popular. Such self-delusion and condescension on display is every press conference that doesn't involve the death of a police officer or firefighter. Tiresome.

I believe in self-love. I have the solution in hand. Why can't we all get along?

The real problem is that Bloomberg does'nt care that he isnt doing a good job for NYC residents. That was not his goal when he became Mayor. He is a narssistict individual and only cares about his personal happiness. His mission was to make NYC his personal playground, and he has succeeded.

Self love?

You mean that Mayor Mike is a "solo sexual"?

(That mean's he also jerks himself off...in addition to all of us NYC residents).

He's forced to.

Who'd want to take his wretched little "wand" in hand for either love or money.

Certainly not me!
