Violating campaign finance laws in broad daylight

Kim voter registration drive done by a nonprofit -- the Korean American Voters Council -- in violation of Campaign Finance Board laws (on Sept 26-27 at Citifield).

This is their description online:

“As a strict non-partisan non-profit organization, KAVC does not endorse any particular party or candidate. It is our responsibility to educate the voters on voting rights and procedures and let the voters decide who to vote for themselves.”

I wonder what role all the "churches" had played in raising $$$$$$$ for Kim?

KAVC's power is small potatoes compared to the pulling operation of the council of churches.

Do you really think there is a strong possibility that KAVC's state not for profit or federal tax exempt (501C3) status will be pulled for violating the law?

Not with Ackerman riding shotgun to protect both their mutual interests.

He's in his position on the far east committee up on "the hill" to smooth out everything.

I can just hear some female newspaper tweeding editors just gush in their panties with the sight.

This is getting to be a very interesting election! I hope that they do NOT get away with this!

Any news on an investigation?

You mean the same "churches" that have "church vans" that 100% of the time are used for church use and NEVER for taking kids to school or going shopping, and are NOT taking advantage of having a tax-free vehicle?

Why does every six people need to form their own "church", complete with tax-dodging property and vehicles?

These guys run scams even "Reverend" Al Sharpton hasn't thought of yet!

Kim Krew is fucking desperate.
If anyone is raising the specter of racism,
it's the Kim people.

I suspect that KAVC would say that they were merely registering voters and were not telling anyone who they should vote for in November. But the fact that they put the big Kim poster up on their booth was a not so subtle hint to people who passed by. They may also say that the Dan Halloran flyer blew away in a gust of wind.

What would they say when you asked them why they were involved in the District 19 race when they were signing up voters outside CitiField?

They might say that people from all over queens go to CitiField and odds are that they scooped up some 19 people. And if they didn't then what's the harm in registering people to vote? I guess I'm not as paranoid as 99% of the people on this blog.

As of today, I have not received a reply from the Congressional Ethics Committee regarding my concerns about the congressman. No news is good news?

The problem is they sign people up to vote for a specific candidates and are getting tax breaks to do so.

Has nothing to do with paranoia, Ruffles.
