Bloomberg promises more of the same

From the NY Times:

Mr. Bloomberg said trade-offs are inevitable — “Do you want a teacher or recycling?” he asked — and is unapologetic about promoting more development as a source of jobs, housing and other needs.

If re-elected, he said, he would stay the course.

Why are we being asked to choose between teachers and recycling? Shouldn't the world's greatest businessman be able to figure out how to provide both?

Temporary development jobs for day laborers is this guy's solution?

This is why I'm voting for Bloomberg. thompson will say anything to get elected. Anyone who runs a houshold knows that you have to make tough choices eavy day to strech your bucks - do I go on vacation in Europe or do I pay the mortgage, do I buy fillet or ground beef, do I send my kid to college or buy a new car? There is not unlimited money. Don't insult my intelligence by pretending that you can have it all. Its that type of thinking that got us into this economic mess. You always have to pay the piper. It may not be today but eventually you will. You can be anti-Bloomberg, just don't be anti-common sense.

We already found a way to provide for both, so commenter #1 is an absolute moron.

It's insulting to be spoken down to by Bloomberg.

It seems to me that Bloomberg is the guy who is saying anything, doing anything, doing all of the pandering to get elected (see the posts about the Irish Football field on this website as the latest example).

How about a new mayor?

Bloomberg is nothing less than a new age robber baron...pure and simple.

What's best for Mike is best for us!

Mike....take a hike!

8 years has been more than enough...thank you!

You Bloomberg trolls need not respond.
Everybody's got hizzoner's number and he'll be history in two weeks!

Hey Mike...you're sitting in political quicksand.

The more you thrash about spending all kinds of money and lying to the voters the quicker you'll go under!

Delivered in hizzoner's famous nasal whine:

"New York....afford it or leave it"!

Michael R. Bloomberg.

THOMPSON IS MACHINE POLITICS. IT WILL ALL BE THE SAME, JUST SHUFFLE THE PEOPLE AROUND. I AM VOTING FOR THE CONSERVATIVE CANDIDATE: Stephen Christopher. A SMALL CHANCE TO WIN BUT I WILL LEAVE THE VOTING BOOTH KNOWING I DID NOT VOTE FOR THE SAME PROBLEMS IN A DIFFERENT SUIT.

Sarah---how can you say that with Thompson it will be "all the same".
Does that mean you think Thompson will vote with the landlords, when the rent guidelines Board meets to determine next year's rent? Does that mean that you think Thompson will have his representatives on the MTA vote for fair hikes the next time the MTA puts it up for a vote? While I am delighted that you are not voting for Bloomberg, I wish you would consider more specifically what you mean, when you say "more of the same". THompson has pledged (and hopefully he will keep those pledges)to make the city more affordable for middle and working class people.

Bill Thompson has been following those promises for the past eight years. He said "Rent Freeze" to the Rent Guideline. He said "No fare hike to the MTA".

Bloomberg: "Yes, Yes, if they can't afford it let them move".

How do I know this? I was there.

Thompson may be a bit of a hack but Bloomberg is an arrogant, elitist, damned f-----g tyrant!

He forced fed the voters a term extension without going to a public referendum.

Mike is a usurper of democracy and that's a hell of a lot worse than having Bill Thompson for mayor!

Let's get real now!

From Bloomberg's campaign ads, I thought that we could have it all in the third term of this Magic Man. Hundreds of thousands of jobs for the middle class. Prosperity for all. Assistance for those who wish to attend community college. Test scores going through the roof. Is he now saying that there must be a trade-off? Get out!

And I'm tired of hearing this, delivered in hizzoner's famous nasal whine:

"Paid faw by Bloomberg Fuh Mayuh 2009"

After Blumturd gets in (and it will happen because our elites sold us out) he will massively increase taxes and fees so that developers can have tax breaks and city resources.

Yes, your kid is going to school in a trailer, the cops dont show up, your street looks like pigs live on it, and the hospital in your community closed so that Bloomturd can give your taxes to developers.
