Avoiding firehouse closures

From the NY Post:

The extreme budgetary shortfall that the city is facing is real and must be addressed, but cutting through the muscle of the FDNY and the NYPD will unnecessarily endanger all of us ("Sharpening the Fire Ax," Oct. 25).

Instead of closing firehouses and cutting the NYPD, the city should eliminate the failing Unified Call Taking system (UCT).

The UCT has a price tag of $1.3 billion, while closing 25 firehouses would only save approximately $30 million.

Considering all the deficiencies of this troubled system, eliminating it would promote, rather than compromise, the safety of all city residents and the firefighters who serve them.

Captain Hagan,

Especially since your idea makes sense, and even more especially since you are an impudent underling of the Commissar, your suggestion is already in the garbage.

Implementing your great idea would prevent the developer and contractor kickbacks owed to the Commissar. Nobody, no idea will EVER cut the flow of corrupt money.

Anyway, who cares if little people die and their homes are destroyed, or that the firefighters like you are killed or injured?

All those dead people are entirely replaceable by many of the hardworking illegal aliens who are training to serve the wealthy survivors.

And all those now-vacant lots can be handed over to wealthy developers to build "affordable housing" for the future servant - so I get even more power, control and tax money for my old age.

Now, Captain, crawl back to your subservient hole and never again threaten my power and wealth.

Or, all of us can think like serious, self-respecting adults and dump this creature on Tuesday!

Elections have serious purpose. Either you take control or you get controlled.

Choose.
