NY legislative spending is up
From Fox 5:
New Yorkers are losing their jobs, taking pay cuts and being asked to make huge sacrifices. But up in Albany, politicians are using more taxpayer money to help them run their offices.
Fox 5's John Deutzman went to the capital to check things out. He went to ask Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver and Senate Majority Leader Malcolm Smith about how expenses to run the state Legislature are way up: office workers, travel expenses, audio equipment for staged news conferences, even media people who deal with pesky reporters.
