Mr. Angry has Helen's number

From Mr. Angry re: this Daily News article:

Let’s see

3 hospitals closed within the last year.
Numerous firehouses on the chopping block.
Rampant overdevelopment.
Homeless all over the damned place.

And she’s worried about a fucking railroad crossing?

...The runaway engine was a fluke. Crossing gates might be nice down there, but so too are fire engines and hospitals.

The ONLY reason [she] is saying anything about it is because it’s the state & MTA’s fault (MTA owns the tracks) and NOT Bloomberg’s fault. If this was something Bloomberg might get the blame for, she’d never, ever raise her voice.

That is like UCCA having yearly headlines about LaGuardia (Port Authority) and Gianaris about Con Ed (Public Service Comm)

Nothing, absolutely nothing, ever gets discussed blaming City Council for anything.

For Christsake, saw a column on women's health written Crowley the other week.

Helen and (hubby) Don Marshall at any Queens catering hall:

Helen: "Where's the shrimp?"

Don: "Where's the bar?"

less hospitals, soon fewer firehouses she should worry about the tracks where the hell are they going to take us? city and state should worry more about queens, since we are the dumping grounds for all the illegals.. being that we are the area of two airports.

And if another runaway train struck a vehicle, or if a car got hit by a train operating normally along the tracks, you'd be the first people to scream, "Where are our local elected officials? Why didn't they do something about this railroad crossing?" Damned if they do, damned if they don't. We need hospitals and schools and firehouses. And we need railroad crossing safety devices, too. Nobody can do anything right.

My my my you seem to be a canditate for the clubhouse.

How many people get hit by a train.

How many people are in a hospital emergency waiting room? right now?

It's fortunate that the Republicans finally have a strong candidate to run against her. She's a major lightweight, machine politician who deserves to get her butt kicked. Hornak is a decent guy and very knowledgeable on the issues that matter. I look forward to their first debate.

I love it. Everyone who disagrees with you is part of "the clubhouse." Not all of us want to be, and not all of us agree with "the clubhouse." But that doesn't necessarily mean we have to fall into line with everything you people believe.

Oh you don't have to be part of the clubhouse to be useful to them. Not understanding that putting crossing signals will do nothing to enhance public safety when a train accidentally slips away from those working on it (which is exactly what happened back in 2004) is a good start toward being a stooge for the clubhouse. Let's make noise about railroad signals during an election year and drown out the questions about why 3 hospitals closed within 6 miles of each other in one borough and no one in power did a damn thing about it. What happened to the court injunction that Helen promised she would get? No doubt we will see her cutting the ribbon at the groundbreaking for the residential towers they replace St. John's with.
