Taken for a ride at Atlantic Yards

From Develop, Don't Destroy Brooklyn:

AY Parking and Subway Study Contradicted by DOT and MTA.

The Environmental Impact Statement for Atlantic Yards, paid for by Forest City Ratner and issued by the Empire State Development Corporation (ESDC), drastically overestimated on street parking capacity, and grossly underestimated future growth in subway ridership.

Don't take our word for it. Just check out the latest from the Department of Transportation (DOT) and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA).

The Brooklyn Paper reports this morning that Ratner lied about tax revenues from the project.

Wow, this is shocking.

As a side note, I was at a discussion last night where the subject of AY came up, with those fighting the plan being called "victims of their own gentrification". And here I thought they were victims of Bruce Ratner, politics and tweeding. It's not about who they are but about their location, which unfortunately is next to a rail yard eyed for development.
