Jackson Heights, the musical?

Jackson Heights has long been a draw for musicians, playwrights and actors who wanted respite from the glare of the Great White Way.

Bright lights on Jackson Heights in new musical

But now local talent is bringing some Broadway back home to one of the most picturesque neighborhoods along the 7 train with the debut of "Jackson Heights, the Musical!"

I think it's time for more original names for these things.

Any chance on seeing Queens Blvd, the Musical and Jackson Heights, the Musical as a double feature?

the productions might be staged in the Guantanamo detention center as an alternate means of torture.

(Who's to say, though. Despite the bland and unimaginative titles the shows might actually be tolerable.)

Sounds very "tony" to me......
the neighborhood that is....
or deserving of an ersatz Tony.....the production !

Gee....is it to be singing and dancing in the streets
next year....
brought to you by the Jackson Heights
Beautification Committee ?

I propose a Broadway musical
highlighting the Broadway/Flushing nabe.....
to be appropriately entitled....
"Only 23 Minutes To Broadway".....
with apologies to George M. Cohan !

(That's how long it takes you to get from
the Broadway station to Penn station
on the Port Washington branch of the LIRR).
