Illegal apartments raided in the Bronx

City building inspectors and firefighters raided a slew of illegal apartments in five Mott Haven homes yesterday, leaving dozens of families homeless without warning.

34 routed from illegal Mott Haven apartments

The noon raids displaced 34 people, including children, from the two-story brick homes at 416, 420, 430, 436 and 438 E. 142nd St., just off Willis Ave.

The American Red Cross was called to the scene to help families with temporary lodging.

Several of the one-family homes had as many as seven apartments inside.

But if we continue to raid all the illegal apartments, where will all the people living in them go?

I agree with you, Mayor Mike, if we continue to raid all the illegal apartments, where will all the people living in them go?

Yes, Mayor Mike and Matt, if we continue to raid all the illegal apartments, where will all the people living in them go?

WAR IS PEACE
FREEDOM IS SLAVERY
IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH
DIVERSITY IS STRENGTH!!!

"But if we continue to raid all the illegal apartments, where will all the people living in them go?"

And if there's a horrible fire, and dozens of our annointed "undocumented guest workers" tragically die, I suppose we can then blame the building inspectors for not doing their jobs? But wait, they are actually doing their jobs, so what do you really want? A.) Unsafe potential tinder boxes for our "guest workers" B.) City building inspectors enforcing the building code or C.) Raise your taxes in order to construct safe housing for our "undocumented guest workers"????

umm...back to where they illegally came from?

I just want to pay a reasonable price for a steak at my favorite restaurant, pay next to nothing to have my lawn cut, and allow developers of Queens Crap to exploit our guests so they keep costs down and turn a bigger profit. Is that so wrong?

Anonymous said...

But, but, but...they do pay SALES tax!

Anonymous said...

Yes, they do contribute to our ecomony!

The people on this blog are idiots. I for one LOVE the drunken all night parties, the excitement of knowing my house could be engulfed in flames at any moment, and the fact that I can't keep track of how many people actually live next door to me who come and go at all hours. We live in the most diverse county in the nation, let's celebrate it!

Yes and why should I as a law abiding citizen get upset that my neighbors are making money illegally off of their home? They have a mortgage to pay, and kids to send to college, you know. So what if they contribute to the overtaxing of the infrastructure, floods, blackouts, school and transit overcrowding? It's their right, damn it!

Just think of how much less crowded this city would be if there were no illegals or illegal apartments.

I think every illegal that the police pick up in this city should be dropped off on the doorstep of Bloomie's townhouse.

just remember, folks, if you have any problems just call the city's 311 hotline and talk to one of our accomodating operators, specially trained to lull you back into a stupor.

LET US NOT FORGET TO THANK OUR GOVENOR FOR NOW LETTING ALL THE ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS, (I REFUSE TO CALL THEM UNDOCUMENTED....THAT IS A PLAY ON WORDS...THEY ARE ILLEGALS) GET DRIVERS LICENSES. WAY TO GO GOV. THIS WILL SOLVE ALL OUR PROBLEMS!

WHAT AN IDIOT!

7 apartments in a one family house? is this the better life these people came here for? I think someone lied to them...

This article is about illegal apartments. The immigration status of those living in this apartment is never mentioned. Poor Americans also live in illegal aprtments.

when are the inspectors coming to flushing???
I'll gladly point out all the illegal apts on my block, that have 30 or so people living in 2 family houses.
actually, my nextdoor nieghbor runs an illegal hotel in a 2 family house on a residential street.

"Poor Americans also live in illegal aprtments."

No, poor Americans live in housing projects.

Yes, Mayor Mike and Matt, if we continue to raid all the illegal apartments where will all the people living in them go?

Well if my legal single family next door to an overcrowded multi-family occupied single family structure burns down to the ground...
I expect to be put up at at Mayor Mike's palace on the upper east side. Better yet - I would not mind residing in his Tucker Town 25M Bermuda home. Nice views - in Bermuda they don't tolerate breaking housing laws. They enforce the law prior to illegal occupancy could possibly occur. Try that here!

Yeah.....
let's build a tent city (with port-o-san toilets)
around Der Mayor's posh east side digs.....
crank up the salsa music.....
maybe piss in his window boxes.....
roast a couple of pigs on the street and
have a big block party !

Oh.....I forgot gang graffiti....MS 13 etc.

Turn his dull hood
into a vibrant and bustling nabe!
Don't you just love it Mayor Mouse ? !!!

Hey....think of these legions of unwashed
as some more votes for the clubhouse.
(Thanks Gov for easy to get bogus IDs)

Tsk....tsk....tsk....
aren't we such terrible "racists"
for speaking the truth ?

Someone wants a job as a reporter at the Queens weeklies, then maybe on to the CAU unit.

The world portrayed by those papers exists only in the imagination of the clubhouse and their spin miesters overall Parkside.

YOU GUYS ARE A LAUGHING STOCK AND ARE FULL OF IT!

NO ONE BELIEVES ANYTHING YOU WRITE ANYMORE!!!

YOUR WORK JUST PROVIDES FUEL FOR CRAPPIE!!!

Send them to CB1 where illegal conversions are all but official policy for the Greek absentee landlords.

Don't just single out the Greeks, everyone else is getting in on the fun too!

Did not a wise man said speaking the truth will set you free?

The machine in Queens is starting to look like the communist party in the USSR back in the 70s. A bunch of smug self-satisfied out of touch oldsters controlling the media making statements that no one believes in.

One day, like the hammer and sickle over the Kremlin, they will simply disappear.

no human is illegal

Anonymous said...

G-d did indeed create all humans to be equal.

He (or she....whatever) said nothing
about their legal status....as I remember .

If they are in a country without proper citizenship
or visa papers.....

THE ARE ILLEGAL......end of story!

(Now I suggest that you go and put some
antibacterial ointment on your bleeding heart).

You folks should read this article CLOSELY. It is about illegal apartments, not about immigration.

I know that for some of you immigrants are the devil's little soilders. But, your comments still are not very Christian or Judeo. The Catholic church endorsed Spitzer's policy on license plates because it was the right (and Christian) thing to do and it is good public policy.

Anonymous said...

Breaking the law is not Christian either. The church should keep its nose out of secular affairs.

Anonymous said...

When the Catholic Church starts paying taxes, then they can have a say in governmental policies.

Anonymous said...

Do really think illegal immigrants are living in a 2-bedroom on the upper east side? Illegal basement in the Bronx sounds more like it.

Here goes:

The Catholic Church is un-American.

Anonymous said...

The Law and Justice are not synonomous.

Women couldn't vote at one time because it was the law.

Slavery was legal because it was the law.

We should be fighting for Justice, not arbitrary laws.

"The Catholic church endorsed Spitzer's policy on license plates because it was the right (and Christian) thing to do and it is good public policy."

Yes! The Catholic church - that great exemplar of morality! Covering up years of sexual abuse of children by priests! And now endorsing granting driver's licenses to our saintly "undocumented guest workers"!

Anonymous said...

The Catholic Church is rapidly losing members
in the USA (witness the Diocese closing churches)....
and is more than eager to fill its ranks....
even at the cost of supporting breaking the law!

i.e. And what did Pope Pious XII do for the Jews
during World War II.....give them sanctuary ?

We won't even open the subject of the "Inquisition" .

A sterling "Christian" record they've got !

Hey....let's all ask the POPE what he thinks.
He's the king of the church.

Oh.....maybe we shouldn't be asking a monarch
about the affairs of our republic.
H-m-m-m....separation of church and state you know !
