Taking a ride on the Forest Park carousel

PIX11's Lisa Mateo visits the Forest Park carousel in Woodhaven, Queens. Restoring the century-old landmark took some years, but its now open to be enjoyed by kids and adults alike. It features the work of master woodcarver Daniel Muller.

Everyone should take a spin on this grand Carousel. Give it your support!

Where's "preservationist" Michael Perlman?

Shouldn't he, representing his Kew-Forest Preservation group, be riding one of those steeds?

With politicians grabbing photo ops...astride these wooden horses on opening day...at least the parks department won't have to sweep up any horse shit.

Unfortunately, political crap will abound, as each blowhard tells their story of how they saved this
Muller Carousel.

These priceless horses should be put in a museum
and replicas used here.

It's only a matter of time (3 or 4 years?)
until they need restoration again.
