LIRR had a bumpy ride this morning

2 HURT AS TRAINS 'BUMP' IN LIRR STATION
ASSOCIATED PRESS

Long Island Rail Road says two westbound trains "bumped" as they were entering a Queens station. Two people suffered minor injuries.

The railroad says a Port Jefferson train bumped a Babylon train as the trains were entering the Jamaica station at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Passengers on both trains were evacuated, and two people were taken to hospitals.

Westbound local service - with one hour delays - has been restored between Penn Station and Jamaica, Kew Gardens and Forest Hills.

NYC Transit is cross honoring LIRR ticket holders on the E, F, J and Z trains at Jamaica and Penn stations.

The incident is under investigation.

In the late 70's (1970s) I used to take the 7:15PM LIRR to Queens Village. I'd buy two beers on the train and sit there in the smoking car. Would have finished my beers by the time we got to Hollis or QV. It was a very civilized way to get home.

Doubt this is possible anymore. And some people think we are better off?

God save us from the do gooders.

Guess we will only be able to buy unsalted peanuts in NYC in the future. Thanks to that idiot peanut in charge.

At least now there is no smoking on the train. But you beer drinkers are still leaving your empties and bags of half melted ice behind. Along with your Snoozeday's and popcorn bags and carrying your life savings aboard the train. Along with the cellfish phone talkers. And the seat hogs, yup it is possible Ollie for ONE person to try to hog up a SIX seat facing. I've seen it done. Oh yeah you get a lot for your 200 a month! an no additional cover charge for the free entertainment!

ALL ABOARD!!!!!!!!

And don't fear they will never take away our salted peanuts, never!
