MTA workers goof off with supervisor's blessing

From the looks of things, TA management has allowed goofing off to become the order of the workday among the people who get paid to walk the tracks. Rather than checking for hazards and needed repairs, some members of the team have been up aboveground doing fun things.

Like managing a bar.

Like lifting weights.

Like taking the sun in the park.

Like breakfasting at leisure.

Like making a road trip to a Long Island beach in a TA truck.

There's no doubt about any of this. Channel 7 Eyewitness News caught the escapades on videotape, and a tip of the hat to them for the exposé.

One worker told the TV station that track inspectors spend so much time off the job but on the clock because "supervisors allow workers to slip out and do whatever they want."

Ain't that the truth.

Make subway workers stop goofing off and get back on the job

The MTA wonders why they are having financial problems?

They need to get rid of the dead weight from the top down.
