Jesus believed in recycling.

...oh great, another commandment. As if I wasn't struggling enough in trying to obey the first ten ;)

Ken, you'd better take a look at this...

Wow. Guess the trash bags do sorta fit in with the mural then.

Speaking of which:

I went to the Astoria Prebyterian Church Easter service today.

I big picture of the HANAC development project which it to preplace the historic church (at nine stories on a two story block)greets you as you go into the door.

All of 30 people.

It was the last Easter at the church.

It was perhaps the saddest religious experience in my life.

And to think that the Christian Science Monitor did a piece about them holding them up as a model for churches in trouble.

Their toubles are just starting.

"Thou shalt not pollute the earth." I hope that includes noise pollution! The son-of-a-bitch Mr. Softee truck jingle-jangled me out of a nice Sunday afternoon nap! This seasonal racket has started again.

shame about the church.
Sounds really nice.

I once went into a historic church in LIC to check it out. As soon as the caretaker saw me inspecting the architecture he told some of the congregation to keep an eye on me like I was looking to plant an explosive or something. (This was shortly after 9-11 so I guess everybody was a bit on edge then.)
