Q: Well, even if there may be no natural right for young people to afford Manhattan, what about the fact that Brooklyn and Queens, where you’re also building condos, used to be affordable? When people are priced farther out, New York will lose some of its culture.
A: It appears to me that New York now is more cultural than it used to be.
Ski season is still on, and I go out to Telluride and ski at the end of the week, and the rest of the time I go to the office and work. My honey, Jane, and my dog moved to Telluride; we have a home in Telluride. … I go back and forth as much as I can, and try and be with my honey and my mountain.
What kinds of issues keep you up at night? It’s been such a weird winter.
It hasn’t been weird for us in Telluride; it’s been the greatest winter on record.
You know what I mean—in America over 3.6 million mortgages were foreclosing or past due in the last three months of last year. Do you worry about families losing their homes, or just homes that are Toll’s?
This guy is seriosly out of touch - like all of the mega-rich in this city! This resembles Buffet and Gates coming out and saying to raise taxes. Sure raise taxes - but at mega rich taxed at 10-15% and the middle class at a rate of 32% they could afford to take a hit and still never be at 32% - what dumb asses these folks are - see you on the slopss out West this weekend - break a leg!

You are destroying my neighborhood you @#$$%*% developer scum.
Hey, I'm as white as Caspar the Friendly ghost by moonlight and I can't afford these buildings. I'm leaving Astoria after nearly 50 years and three generations (gramps bought our childhood house in the 20's).
The Bronx anyone? I'll meet you by Pelham Parkway.

Why your neighborhood is full of Queens Crap
"The difference between dishonest and honest graft: for dishonest graft one worked solely for one's own interests, while for honest graft one pursued the interests of one's party, one's state, and one's personal interests all together." - George Washington Plunkitt

Everytime you see a high rise you see a campaign donation where someone has purchased the services of your representative.

Funny how they celebrate diversity in Queens, yet no one has commented on how divesity goes out the window as buildings go up.
Its like the preservation community and the landmarks law.
Two dinosaurs from the 50s that no longer respresent NY.
I thing its important that the press cover areas that are losing diversity (you know the word that has made Queens strong over the past 30 years)
Funny isnt it? Not a word...not a word...
