Victorian tragedy

"Say goodbye to these Victorian style homes at 84-44 and 84-40 Lefferts Boulevard just north of 85th Avenue. Probably built a century or more ago, they are now scheduled for demolition - to be replaced by ... ?????"

The first address received a permit for subdivision and this is in an R6B zone. A request for mechanical demo was denied and the plans for 12 units were disapproved, but I am sure with a few minor adjustments, the plan will breeze right through the DOB approval process.

Also found this:

NOTE: THESE PREMISES IS SUBJECT TO THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 12-10ZR AS TO ZONING LOT OWNERSHIP AND IS UNDER THE RESTRICTIONS OF ONE ZONING LOT COMPROMISING FOUR TAX LOTS 24,25,26,27

As for Joe's question, the answer is "ugly, high-density self-certified crap".

Check out how that first home is built around a gable. Awesome . . . and tragic.
