A tram for Fort Totten

As the city moves forward with plans to transform into parkland 50 acres at the former Fort Totten military base, Phil Konisberg, a neighbor, eagerly awaits one new amenity. It is something that will make the park accessible to the elderly and people with disabilities.

Fort Totten Park to be accessible to all

He won't have long to wait.

An alternative-fuel tram will take visitors who need it around the grounds of the picturesque Bayside Civil War-era fort with its views of Long Island Sound and the Whitestone Bridge.

"We plan to have the tram in place by next spring," [Parks spokeswoman Abby] Lootens said. "The tram will make the property more accessible to all park users, including those in wheelchairs."

The tram will not only benefit the handicap but also all of the out of shape and overweight fast food junkies in NYC who are unable to take more than a few steps without getting winded.

Eastern Queens gets a 50 acre park with a tram, western Queens gets a private land grab on the East River and housing on St Saviours.

Ummm...wonder when the people in western Queens can get their taxes to benefit them?

Regarding St. Saviour's......
isn't it owned by an Israeli developer?

They're as belligerent and intrusive here
as they are with the Palestinians.
No wonder they've never had peace with their brother Semite neighbors in the Middle East!

I could never figure this one out.

If Israel is supposed to be the home of the Jewish people, why are Israelis building in New York et al. and not in Israel? Why are their more Israelis in NYC than in Tel Aviv?

[Ya better hide under the sofa now, George.]

Boy, the way Glen Miller played. Songs that made the hit parade.
Guys like us, we had it made. Those were the days.
Didn't need no welfare state. Everybody pulled his weight.
Gee, our old LaSalle ran great. Those were the days.
And you know who you were then, girls were girls and men were men.
Mister, we could use a man like Herbert Hoover again . . .

George.....that's because the state of Israel
expelled its scum so they came to New York
and became developers!

I have great respect for Israelis
who have the chutzpah to remain steadfast and are willing to build and defend their homeland.

They're true patriots investing with their lives
in the state of their country.

Ask the average Israeli what he thinks of ex-patriot
army service dodgers that flee to America?

Answer....."schmutz, dreck"......in other words scum!

Some become "developers".
