Putting up crap on Putnam

When you think of Ridgewood, something like this probably comes to mind. (Graffiti and ethnic signs included.)
But hey - there's a new game in town.

789 Woodward Avenue/1905 Putnam Avenue was formerly occupied by a 3 family house. But now a fine Queens Crap condo specimen has taken its place. Believe it or not, there are supposedly only 5 units in this thing. The most interesting touch is the windows that are already bricked up before the building is even complete. This brings a touch of even lower class to that nauseating pink stucco. The gritty urban feel will become even grittier once that plywood fence is removed and the neighborhood artists have access to a brand new canvas.

wow, pre-emptive window bricker - upper. Where's my BB Gun so I can help with the rest? Place looks more like a jail than a home.

I assume the developer is predicting its demise with its newly constructed bricked in windows. Very wise!

There's an infill building like that on 44th street in Sunnyside, though more pretentious architecturally.
We went to look at the insides and the apartments are tiny, chinsy and cheap. It does have parking and a medical suite on the ground floor, but to look at it hurts. Knowing what the extra people will do to the 'hood is a drag.

You know, you'd think the members of the community board who are so concerned with the well-being of Ridgewood and overdevelopment would be documenting these things. But instead, it's a guy with a computer showing the world just what a shithole my ol' nabe has become. When I moved out, there was no one doing this. Pity.

To me, this building looks better than those ugly vinyl-sided houses next to it.

It might be a little more interesting if it was flipped upside down.
