Men in Black filming in Richmond Hill

Hi QC,

[Thursday] morning there was quite a traffic jam in Richmond Hill!

Men in Black 3 is being filmed in RH from June 01 to June 03.

So what if traffic is screwed up, no one can park on Jamaica ave. Between 110th street and Lefferts and some side streets, cars are towed and peoples sleep is disturbed. At least we are getting some new stores in the neighborhood.

And look how low cab fare is these days.

I like the MIB movies, really. However this is very disrupting to many. And I heard nothing of it until I saw it today.

Thanks.

-Joe

P.S. The bus does not stop here...

Unless the filmmakers can provide dolly grip, best boy, catering, extra, etc jobs for local residents, they're not welcome here.

I didn't know Richmond Hill was NOT part of NYC - [fart noise]!

This could have been done on a weekend, at least. These movie people have a callous and cavalier attitude towards the neighborhoods they film in. As far as they are concerned, Richmond Hill is just one big prop.

And the drivers spoke English (albeit with a heavy NY accent)

The film crews are self-contained for employment, catering, even power. They know they are inconveniencing the neighborhood and don't care.

I think Will Smith's trailer is too big to fit under that el
