Fidler laughed all the way to the bank

From the Daily News:

Certified by the Campaign Finance Board: Brooklyn Councilman Lew Fidler ripped off the taxpayers to the tune of $88,550.

Rolling in private donations in a Democratic district, Fidler in 2009 faced a Republican running on less than a shoestring.

No matter. He insisted he was up against a mighty foe and demanded the full $88,550 in funds rather than the quarter of that which the board normally gives in lopsided races. He scored 82% of the vote.

Now the board is being refunded money by Fidler, but under the law it can recoup only what he failed to spend - a grand total of $8,760. That's a shame, because Fidler fleeced taxpayers for every penny of that $88,550.

So did Liu, who did not pay some $600,000 that Sanitation Dept. fined him for posting on trees, lamposts, etc. during his run for Comptroller.

That money should be withheld from his pension, or better yet, rescind his pension. Sooner or later these political criminals need to be made an example of. Taxpayers are tired of politicians sqandering our money for their personal use.

ANOTHER BUM . ALTHOUGH FIDLER MAY NOT BE WITH THE THOMAS JEFFERSON CLUB HE HAS VERY CLOSE TIES TO THOSE POLS WHO ARE.
THE TJ CLUB CULTURE IS PART OF FIDLER'S DNA. YOU CAN SEE THAT FROM THE MONEY HE HAS COLLECTED FROM THE TAXPAYERS OF NYC.
NO SHAME !

Interesting post.
Never really thought about it but why do taxpayers provide support to someone that has a "can't lose" election?

There goes his frontrunner status in succeeding Carl Kruger, another paragon of corruption.

Carl Kruger was at the Rally in Coney Island on Sunday to " Save the 161 Firehouse" on W. 8th St.
Even the other politicans cringed when Kruger showed up.
He has alot of Chutzpah. Kruger has been alleged to have stolen million of dollars & kickbacks.
Don't these pols have any SHAME ?

No shame at all. These people are invincible. They really feel that they are above the law.
