Hello Crapper,
I took this photo with my cell phone. This is the LIRR's Depot Road station off Northern Blvd. The schedule says in English "waiting room hours are 5 AM to 4 PM. But in Spanish the waiting room hours were 6 AM to 4 PM. What's up with that?
Take Care,

Typically and culturally Hispanics tend to start to party and dance very late in the evening to the early morning. The hours advisement is the LIRR way of accommodating all their Hispanic riders. After all, they are the single biggest ethnic group moving to LI and constitute their largest of customers.
I bet they dont show up till at least 8:30

In my opinion the creator of the sign probably does not know how to write English properly. LOL

Hispanic are the most joyous of people and know how to shake it baby!
But they need a little bit of accommodation as they tend to arrive fashionably late to everything, especially work. The sign only make this palatable to them so that it can be used in discussions each morning at work why they cannot arrive on time, ever.
