Rally in Fresh Meadows this Saturday!

I am sending you this email to inform you about a RALLY planned for this Saturday, April 21st at 3pm in front of 69-57 185th Street, by NYC Councilman Tony Avella, the Fresh Meadows Homeowners Civic Association, Inc., and residents of 185th Street in Fresh Meadows, Queens, NY.

The reasons for the RALLY are the numerous issues regarding continuing problems with the rules and regulations of the New York City Department of Buildings (DOB), DOB interpretation and enforcement of those rules and regulations, and the construction of buildings like the one at 69-57 185 Street which has been cited for irregularities yet continues to be built.

A copy of a FLYER announcing the Rally is attached as well as a List of Concerns submitted to Councilman Avella by residents of 185th Street and 2 recent pictures of the building under construction taken in April.

A STOP WORK ORDER had been issued and rescinded but a recent DOB inspection noted that construction was not proceeding according to plans yet no new STOP WORK ORDER was issued.

Thank you for your good work in bringing attention to all this QUEENS CRAP !!!

Holy Hell!

That building is so long I think the back of it is in a different county.

Thanks, Tony A for blasting the DOB who goes after your little pool while allowing monstrosities like this. It looks like one - and only one politician in the boro is earning their salary.

I have a neighbor whose private home has been bombarded with about 10 complaints by a vengeful contractor. (Along the lines of Tony Avella)

DOB just replied to a letter describing the abuse of the agency's resources. Essentially, DOB's replied: FU.

DOB and the other city agencies have been corrupted by Bloomberg's use of them to express his loathing of "Little People" and his love for the money-baggers who pay for his services.

This situation will continue until we put a stop to it. We are only powerless if we believe that the city has the power and we don't.

Bloomberg is here to stick it to us in our name.

Long? Oh, yes! This building is unbelievable! The building crosses a telephone line easement and the lines have been run right through the building. It's definitely a piece of work!!

I think this horrendous piece of crap epitomizes why this website was created.

Tear it down, Tony!

69-57 185th Street: the straw that broke the camel's back.

This rally is going to be big.
Every newspaper & TV station must be notified.

"Heigh, heigh!
Ho, Ho!
Queens Crap
Has got to go!"

[I'll be looking for you. Will you be looking for me?]

The lawlessness exhibited by the DOB has got to stop! Way to go Tony....you've got my vote!

They are one of the most corrupt city agencies. It is riddled with crooks!

This status quo is applauded by builders and allowed to continue, unchecked, by the mayor and his political cohorts.

I just can't wait to see Bloomberg's back as he walks out of City Hall for good!

God bless term limits!

Whatever happened to Claire Shulman's "contextual zoning" plan from 20 years ago?

I'll tell you.....she's bent over so many time for the builders that there is none.

It was a sham to begin with! So Queens is continuing to get it up the ass!

This prime piece of shit (as long as an aircraft carrier) is certainly out of context!

There should be a F----g law against these kind of atrocities block busting a neighborhood!
