'King of Queens' vacating his throne

In the 1970s, All in the Family portrayed Queens as a haven for racists. In the 1990s, The King of Queens put a kinder, gentler face on our borough. Now it's time for Doug and company to sign off:

Farewell to a 'King'

To Kevin James and crew: Thanks for the laughs. You'll be missed!

It's sad to lose this show. Fortunately, we have syndication! They never fail to make us laugh.

I stayed in Queens the only time I've been to New York. The people were nice (didn't notice any racism)but somehow I was surrounded by Jehovah's Witnesses two days.

I enjoyed reading through a month of your posts. I stumbled upon you by hitting "next blog" a few times.

#1. "...kooky Arthur decides to..move out of the basement...that means the same space...will now likely be filled..." Maybe they'll change their minds and rent out to...? Hhhmm, let's see.
[Hey Hollywood! How about a sit-com on the adventures of illegals living in the basement. Ha-ha, hee-hee, ho-ho! There's a market there: a half a million undocumented - thanks to Rudy]

#2. Guys, don't ever get photographed wearing shorts. You'll look like a jerk.

Forget about being photographed in their shorts...don't wear them at work! Mail carriers and UPS drivers look ridiculous in them.

Nah.....they got tired of the over-development on the block and cashed out on their old home!

I hear they'll be renting a big studio apartment in the Queens West development! It was the plan all along (no room for Arthur there)!

We need a sit com on "tear downs"........you know.....a small time contractor with a beat up old van.....aspiring to become the Donald Trump of Queens!
