Hoidy toidy fountain breaks yet again

From DNA Info:

Long Island City parents got a burst of relief Monday when the children's sprinklers at Gantry Plaza State Park turned on for the first time this summer — but then the spray showers were closed off again the next day.

The waterfront "sprayground" had been closed since last fall, when it was damaged by saltwater that flooded the park during Hurricane Sandy. The problem appeared to be fixed earlier this week when the sprinklers were finally spouting water again and open to frolicking kids.

But on Tuesday, though the spray showers were still flowing, they were blocked off with barricades, to the disappointment of neighborhood parents.

The high-tech spray showers first debuted at the Gantry Park playground last summer, complete with an on-duty lifeguard and a button that allows children to control the sprinklers' water pressure.

Want to cool off? Why do it at the taxpayers expense?

You tower people are rich. Pay for your own feakin amenities.

Let the taxpayers keep taxes for their neglected communities - neglected because the people they voted to represent them are taking donations from developers so that they (the pols that is) can go on to bigger and better things.

They certainly did not enter 'public' service to spend their lives working for a bunch of whining gullible chumps do you?

Naw. Take a dip in Newtown Creek - don't fret - hell its fumes are in the air you breath, its mysteries have coated the restaurants you eat in, its waters have baptized the nurseries your kids play in, and it has sprinkled pixie dust over the parks you walk in.

Don't fret. You have the sewage of the East River to wash it all away.

I WOULD NOT LIVE IN HUNTERS POINTS ON THE WATERFRONT IF YOU GIVE ME AN APARTMENT.

AND EXPOSING KIDS TO THAT?

THE PEOPLE THAT ENGINEERED THIS ARE NOT RAISING THEIR FAMILIES THERE

YOU CAN TAKE THAT ONE TO THE BANK.

Speaking of The Doorman:

How come he wasn't at any of the recent Walter McCaffrey (his predecessor as Councilman) commemorative events?
