CB1 member forms LLCs for 2 Malba properties

I received a request from a reader to look into the property records of the 2 houses pictured here. The addresses are 13-35 143rd Street and 13-39 143rd Street in Whitestone/Malba.

The owner of both properties is Pauline Jannelli, who purchased both homes between 2003 & 2004. Ms. Jannelli is a board member of CB1 in Astoria.

In 2011, Jannelli formed 2 LLCs - one for each house - and transferred the deed over to them.

The current R1-2 zoning allows for one enormous McMansion here, should the lots be combined (minimum lot width is 60ft & current lot widths are 40ft) and the owner desires to build. Of course, there's always the possibility that the landlord wanted to form LLCs to collect rent...10 years after purchasing the homes that happen to be next to each other.

Only time will tell, but perhaps the writing's on the wall here.

I smell Valloney Balloney and a mcmansion on the horizon! It seems like the Vallone supporters can't read or don't read. If they did they would read about his voting record at CB7 and his desires to grant variances and favors (The White House, Whitestone) to gangsters who want to put up catering halls on quiet residential streets.

Ignoring the infection at its source let it spread everywhere. Now deal with it.

What happens in Vegas does not always stay in Vegas.

Gee, a chunk of property ripe for McMansioning and it has Vallone signage all over.

Where does this Pauline Jannelli reside? CB1 or somewhere else?

She has addresses listed in College Point and Jackson Heights in the paperwork. I believe she owns a hair salon in Astoria.

She qualifies to be a member of CB1 because she has a business there.
I always thought you had to live within the CB boundaries but not so:

"Board members are selected by the Borough Presidents from among active, involved people of each community, with an effort made to assure that every neighborhood is represented. Board members must reside, work or have some other significant interest in the community."

What does "...some other significant interest..." mean? Maybe Jannelli was Claire's or Helen's personal hair dresser.

Only in Queens.
