Pathetic voter turnout across the city

From WNYC via New York Shitty:

And this is why we get exactly the representation that we deserve.

The system makes us good consumers, but poor participants in the political arena. This is simply not taught in schools or encouraged in public life.

The news outlets are atrocious on reporting useful information.

The system does everything it can to make our choices pointless.

The process encourages those interested in public service to plug into the system.

Solution, like most 'intractable' problems is really quite simple:

The first step is to do convince the public that by and large our system is a sham when compared to the myth.

After that changing it will be easy.

It is so painful when we look at other countries and how their populations grasp desperately at democracy and how the American electorate, supposedly the beacon on the hill for the rest of the world simply doesn't give a shit.

Queens elections summarized:

Fewer residents who are citizens than other areas.

Fewer citizens who take the time to register that other areas.

Fewer registered voters who actually vote because they know the uncontested (D) candidate will win compared to areas with valid contested elections.

More voter fraud than other areas to make sure that the favored Democrat is nominated/elected.
