Republican leadership goes to court

From the Daily News:

Current chairman Phil Ragusa and his supporters will head to Queens Supreme Court Monday, claiming he was duly re-elected during a reorganization meeting in Flushing on Wednesday.

But former City Councilman Tom Ognibene and his backers are claiming victory too, saying he was elected during a different reorganization meeting held at the same time in Richmond Hill.

“I don’t know what happened at their meeting,” Ognibene said today. “I was elected county chair and we elected an executive committee.”

Ognibene’s supporters include City Councilman Eric Ulrich and his chief of staff, Bart Haggerty.

Ragusa’s camp tried to get a restraining order against the other faction to stop their reorganization meeting on Wednesday night.

Way to go guys. Right on the heels of Bob Turner's upset win, the local GOP is showing its true colors- a perennial inability to get its act together.

Both factions of this fractured GOP use proxies as a vehicle for gathering votes in order to nominate their slate of candidates. Anyone can easily surmise that proxies could be forged, because it is difficult to track down county committee persons(the voters)to authenticate their signatures on these proxies. The By-laws allow voting by proxy.

Whether you would like to vote for either Ragusa or Ognibene, you should be required to be physically present at the county meeting to vote.

Ognibene is a powerful 'ol political rooster.

He'll beat out impotent, sleepy time, out-of-touch Ragusa, in a heartbeat.

So long Phil!

You were "important" only to yourself.

The Republicans in this county never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity.

And while Ognibene was being "elected" Republican leader, I was elected president for life of the great nation of Micronesia - in my mind that is.

It won't matter anyway after the next council election!

Bishop, Ognibene, Gallagher and Tabone all collude to profit from the endless turmoil.

Will someone please stick a fork in Ognibene already? This roast is turning black from overcooking. Ready for heaving - head first - into the garbage can.

"Bishop, Ognibene, Gallagher and Tabone all collude to profit from the endless turmoil."

Please tell me where there's money to made from this nonsense. I could really use some right now.

They pushed May Lynne, Myrtle and Gloria to the other side to keep the fight going

Courts do not find for usurper pretenders like the Haggerties, expecting them to exhaust all internal appeal, including State and National, in the organization where they seek office. Further, Ragusa was repeatedly elected in full compliance with NYS election law and the party bylaws, which the Haggerties refuse to respect, peruse or comprehend. Only when the primaries made Ragusa's re-election so overwhelming did they resort to such histrionic theatrics instead of facing up to defeat on the conventions floor. The right of association provides that such organizations must be allowed to govern themselves, and not by judicial whim. The turmoil and tumult to which the Haggerties wish to subject the Queens GOP constitute racketeering corsive extortion (222 NY 305 118 NE 800 1918; 302 NY 2 96 NE 2d 56 1950; 3 Johns Cas 337 1804 NY). For any journalist to suggest their is any validity to the Haggerty claim would constitute nothing less than abject and unconscionable and foolishly deluded fraud. Need you refer to the case in where they led Elisabeth Berney to ridicule?

La forza del destino stems from backstabbing. Koch vs Weprin. Ognibene vs Tabone. Mediterranean sport. Italians, French, Spaniards, Moors, Greeks, Turks, Jews, Arabs. Ever tumultuous, going nowhere.

No collusion. Tabone just hates strong, smart women. That's why he only dated latinas,

You ignorant racist, my wife is Latina, and I've dated Latina almost my entire life. One of my sister in laws is Latina and fyi, they are two of the smartest people (not just women) I know.

We may not agree with Vince and his role with the GOP! but to attack his wifes ethnicity, just shows your ignorance.

"They pushed May Lynne, Myrtle and Gloria to the other side to keep the fight going"

Who are "they"? And who are May Lynne, Myrtle and Gloria?
