Maspeth backyard becomes crap

Here's the before shot. Lots of trees.

Then the site was subdivided and now a 3-story, 2-family (wink) house is being squeezed between 2 existing homes.

Thank you so much, A&A!

We have one of those on 165th off of 27th Ave in Flooshing. It contains SIX(!!!) apartments and houses many, many people!!!

Oh yea - the site used to contain a 2-story single-family home.

Now there's no landscaping, garbage on the lawn, and crap stored on the landing.

Realtors can call the area North Flooshing all they like but it's still rapidly becoming a shithole.

John Chen, "English architect".

What the hell does that mean?

Is Chen a relative of Wellington Z. Chen....Claire Shulman's Willets Point partner ?

Is that legal zoning for Maspeth? 3 stories?

Not to worry folks, not to worry:

1. we have our community boards

2. we have our elected officials

3. and if they fail, why we have Queens Civic Congress and we know how they bare their teeth every time a politician is in the room.

Check out the SE corner of Parsons Blvd and 32nd Ave. They just razed 4 adjoining one family houses going up 32nd. I can't imagine what monstrosity they will build there now.

Well, it very well may be only 2 families, but each family will have roughly 26 members in it.

Heaven forbid when you sneak into the US to find a job in a chinese food store you dont bring your parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, and three neighbors with you, none of which will even get a job or bother to learn english. They may, however, go around other neighborhoods and collect bottles and cans at all hours of the night.

Chens no architect.

Most these Asian shit boxes are made by a computer. You pick your needs from swatches of rooms, windows, plot size and the computer will calculate the use every cut of wood to go up cheap and quick.
All 90 and 180 degree cuts at 2, 4 and 8 feet.
Sometimes the computer can send the data to the sawmill that makes all the cuts and packs it all like cases of beer
That's mainly why they all look like shit

In China you have 100s of miles of them. Worker barracks (complete with the 30 foot mountains of trash and rats every 1/4 mile.

It's not "English Architect." If you speak Chinese, call the (646) number; if you speak English, call the (917) number.

Most architects design by computer nowadays. It's not the computer that makes it bad (though I personally think design was better before CAD).
