Suspects sought in armed robberies

From NY1:

Police are asking for the public's help in finding the suspects wanted in connection with a string of armed robberies throughout Queens and Brooklyn.

Investigators say the suspects robbed 13 different convenience stores, gas stations, and bodegas between June 14th and July 8th.

They say in each case, the suspects are armed with a gun and take money from the register.

Police say one suspect wore a red "USC" sweatshirt in all of the robberies.

There are no reported injuries.

I would have no problem if a frightened storekeeper blew their heads across the street. I am a woman, not George the Atheist, and my father taught all of his children that self-defense is a right.

No problem. Without guns, these robberies would never have been possible!

I was held-up on Convent Terrace years ago going to the CCNY library by two vermin. One held a 6 inch shiv to my throat.

Thank you George. My mother had her head split open with a blackjack and just made it home in time to pass out in front of me.

People can also be menaced by stronger, unarmed individuals as well. One of my neighbors, a deceptively strong, scrawny-looking woman who belonged to a dojo for 20 years beat a would-be rapist like a drum.

I know another rapist who hung out in my school's gym who attacked several woman until a female karate expert chased him through a plate glass window. Members of the men's wrestling team finally successfully grabbed him sometime later.

Unfortunately, few of us are skilled in the martial arts. Remember Colt's slogan, "God made man, Colt made them equal."

I say keep em' guessing. I prefer to avoid the use of guns, but for people who are willing to expend the time to train properly to use and secure the weapons safely gun ownership is often justified.
