Choe runs on anti-American platform

From the NY Post:

The comments of John Choe, one of six candidates trying to succeed Councilman John Liu in Flushing, were reported in the Workers World newspaper.

"Korea is at the front line of the liberation struggles against imperialism," Choe was quoted as telling a conference here in May 2006 on "Preparing for the Rebirth of the Global Struggle for Socialism."

"From the very beginning, when the US intervened and occupied Korea, the Korean people have been resisting and struggling. And I urge all of you here to help us in our dark days trying to win back freedom and independence from the United States and its military."

Choe's position poses something of a problem for Liu and the Queens Democratic Party, which has endorsed him.

Liu, now running for comptroller, insisted Choe, his former chief of staff, was being stigmatized by "McCarthyism."

"There's no way he made those comments, no way," declared Liu, not aware of Choe's admission [that he had].

Let's take no chances on any traitor.

Vote for the opponent of both.

On top of his sympathies, Liu is stupid.

We have enough stupid people spending our money.

Bakka (phonetically spelled...meaning...stupid) Choe!

In politics everything comes back to haunt you.

He should have kept his mouth shut.

That kind of stupidity could also cost Liu his desired spot!

Much more about Choe's hate of America

With a platform like that, he should run for office in North Korea.

It is surreal that this guy is even running for office (in America) and it is doubly surreal that Joe Crowley and the Queens Organization actually endorsed this clown! Google this guy. He's all over the Workers World website - that's the website of the American Communist Party. Time to pull the plug on this thug, Joe.

John Liu is supporting this anti-American bum. It tells you what Liu is all about

How come the other papers and TV does not pick up on this?

John Choe has told the Workers World newspaper, “The Korean community is reaching out to others who have suffered from U.S. policy. We had a community forum recently… to build solidarity with people in the Middle East, including Palestine, making comparisons with the way the U.S. has acted with its allies in Korea and Palestine, dividing and occupying these two countries.” Choe continued, "We also spoke of the significance of the diaspora in both our struggles.”

you don't think that district will vote him in??

No, there are multiple Asian candidates to choose from.

If you're looking for a patriot, I know a candidate who served in the US military and ran in the marathon. He speaks Arabic, too.

The local press rarely covers him, can you guess his name?

Sheikh Yerbouti??

Seriously, please tell us who this candidate is. Anyone is preferable than this piece of crap Choe!

Comrade Choe is a most loathsome person, and should be careful what he wishes for. I'm not exactly opposed to the U.S. pulling our troops out of South Korea. I wouldn't shed a tear either if Kim Jong Il sent his troops south of the 38th Parallel. The U.S. has more pressing problems, and the South Koreans should learn how to wipe their own backsides. Let them deal with Kim Jong Il and the Chinese themselves!!!

Years ago, the Dead Kennedys had a song "Nazi Punks F*#@ Off", with the lyric: "In a real Third Reich, you'd be the first to go". That line speaks volumes about Comrade Choe.

I am sure the starving people of North Korea will all agree it is much better to live under the Dear Leader's rule than to eat well and live well in America.

See how many Americans are flying right into North Korea to live.

As the old saw has it, "If you like it so much there, why don't you live there?"

If Choe loves Korea so much maybe he should just round up some of his countrymen (not hard to do, take a stroll down Northern) and GO HOME.

both Choe and Liu are racist crooked little men who need to get the fuck out of america

by all means put him on the ballot - the only way we can discredit this type (and all he respresents included the addled vickies and claires that support this element) is to have him in the spotlight for the whole world to see.

diverse and vibrant queens my ass

Choe’s own rhetoric supports many of the accusations made against him. In a speech Choe made in May of 2006 at a conference called “Preparing for the Rebirth of the Global Struggle for Socialism”, the audio of which is posted online on the World Workers Party website (http://www.workers.org/2006/us/korea-0601/index.html),

Bakka (phonetically spelled...meaning...stupid)

Actually, the standard romanization of the Japanese word for stupid would be "baka" with one k. The double k stands for something closer to a glottal stop, which "baka" does not contain. I realize you were just showing off, but this will help you show off better next time.

Actually, having worked for the Japanese for a number of years, there are many English variations of spelling the same word. Just depends on your author.

So much for your knowledge.

Ooooh, you wanna quibble?
Actually, being fluent in Japanese, I can tell you that "English variations of spelling the same word" is code for ignorance and/or laziness. Japanese is a precisely phonetic language, so there can be only one correct transliteration (or romanization) of each word. Any alternates offered are the fantasies of Japanese who don't know English or non-natives who know dangerously little Japanese.

Regardless, you were showing off - having to awkwardly define and explain your term of choice is proof enough. Not to mention we're talking about a Korean here...

Correction:

John Choe actually got married in the Old Quaker Meeting House on Northern Boulevard in downtown Flushing and his boss John Liu attended!

Better do some fact checking.

gotta love the closet racists hiding behind computer screens.

if they dont look or sound like us they aint american enough!!!

My only problem with Choe is his fixation on the wonders of North Korea, not his ethnicity. I can't imagine that anyone would have anything positive to say about the repressive, Stalinist society that the people there are forced to live under. And if Choe thinks otherwise, he must be delusional.
