Queens Center one of country's best malls

From The Real Deal:

One of the country's most profitable shopping centers is in Elmhurst, Queens. The Queens Center was the only New York City-based mall on U.S. News and World Report’s top 10 list of most profitable shopping centers. Queens Center posted an average occupancy rate of 98 percent, and sales of $876 per square foot, according to the magazine, which ranked malls by analyzing sales figures, occupancy rates and quality grades for about 650 of the largest shopping centers.

Queens Center Mall is packed with too many thugs. Since its addition I have never felt safe there

It was even better before it was expanded. I'm glad the expansion didn't wreck it.

I think this mall is much better since the expansion; however, don't go there in the afternoon when all the high school thugs are there.

Its a nice mall. Much too nice for many of the "patrons" who stroll around the place.

Considering most of these people most likely dont spend money in the place (except maybe the food court), the financial success of the place is astounding!

It's a fine mall, but the subway staiton to it has only one entrance, and gets crowded quickly. The MTA should have an entrance leading directly nito the mall building.

I have a great idea. We could build a ramp across Queens Blvd to the old "St. Johns Hospital" and put more stores over there. As a matter of fact there is useless park area behind the bankrupted hospital that we can take by "emminent domain" and really expand the Queens Center.

Wondering how Atlas Park ranked, dead last most likely. The new managers should take a page from Queens Center. At least they have a mix of high, medium, and low end stores.
