Sergey, you get a star for your collar. Fabulous tour of the area! Thanks.

This site is so educational.

I especially enjoyed the "bird's eye" view of LaGuardia Airport from the College Point shoreline but it seems to be missing something. Maybe if "they" added a waste transfer station...

Thanks for the tour, Sergey!

How totally depressing. Once again, another broke-down, neglected Queens location with enormous potential. I especially loved the link to the N train article from 1999. Why would anyone want to get to the airport by train?

They will never do anything about College Point and make it nice... because its College Point...

It will remain a dumping ground but in a different way with residential overdevelopment, additions to the corporate park such as the ridiculous waste transfer station and a HUGE police academy, and the proposed relocation of businesses from Willets Point to College Point. It's been said before but Bloomie and friends are putting 10 pounds of crap into a 5 pound sack! The EDC and other city agencies will provide some minor "amenities" such as road improvements that will not be adequate, but there is only so much you can add to that community before it bursts. You can thank Gene Kelty, Chuck Apelian, and other CB7 board members for allowing the city to do this. When did CB7 stop fighting for the people and roll over and play (brain) dead? Can anyone guess who might be profiting from all of this?

CB#7 is denying that it did anything wrong!

Thanks, everyone. The photo essay is a combination of my reporting and my appreciation for local history.
