Staten Island gets new ER

Brooklyn and Queens have been closing hospitals, while Staten Island is gaining an emergency room:

Patient capacity will increase to 85,000 visits a year, up from the current 70,000, University Hospital officials say. The emergency room's size will more than triple to about 40,000 square feet.
