Routine park maintenance now newsworthy

From NY1:

A memorial in Flushing, Queens to local soldiers who died in the Korean War received some maintenance from the Parks Department this week.

Yes, folks, it's such a rare event that parks in our borough are maintained that TV stations come down to cover it.

That's because John Liu had an event scheduled at the Memorial on Thursday. He didn't want the bird droppings in his photo.

Why not? Liu shits all over his constituency and the symbolism would have been perfect! Isn't it interesting how things get done when it suits the elected officials who would otherwise look the other way?
