Queens civic leaders endorse Bloomberg

From the Queens Campaigner:

Civic leaders from Ridgewood, Middle Village and Woodhaven endorsed Michael Bloomberg for mayor Monday and praised his work with small businesses, education, crime, and quality of life issues.

Those who threw their weight behind the independent candidate included Peter Cardella of the Peter Cardella Senior Center in Ridgewood; Maria Thomson, executive director of the Greater Woodhaven Development Corporation; Tania Broschart, president of the Middle Village Chamber of Commerce; and Sal Candela, president of the Middle Village Property Owners Association.

I think you need to put quotes around the "civic leaders" in the title.

Also, at least two of the four also heavily endorsed a pink councilman who later forcibly fondled a granny..

and so their good judgment continues.

Har-u-m-p-f-f...civic leaders?

They look more like a pack of followers...lapdogs on
leash...nothing but masochistic ass eaters!

Bloomberg & Co. crapped all over you and you still crave more?

It ain't chocolate pudding hizzoner will be serving for dessert!

How much did Mayor Bum-turd pay you for endorsing him?

Did he promise you all a cabinet post?

98% of independent thinkers, who are capable of thinking through a sentence of more than 4 words, think the Commissar is a moron who needs to be dumped.

Use your vote on September to show the Commissar who's the boss.

Take control.

Then, use November 3 to vote for Avella. Take control.

Actually, Bloomberg has very high approval ratings citywide. Taxpayer, you live in a dreamworld if you think a majority of people share your views.

Let's see - decreases in crime, better results in city schools, avoiding financial calamity during the worst recession since the Great Depression - seems like signs of a mayor doing a good job.

Also, didn't the Juniper Civic endorse Gallagher at one time? That was not a very convincing point by Walter.

Actually, the Juniper Park Civic Association never endorses anyone. Individuals from that organization may if they choose to do so. Same happened here. Once again, A Bigger Taxpayer is a bigger asshole.

"Let's see - decreases in crime, better results in city schools, avoiding financial calamity during the worst recession since the Great Depression - seems like signs of a mayor doing a good job."

More like encouraging people to not report crime, dumbing down tests to make it look like kids are passing, and putting all the City's eggs in the real estate basket so that cuts in vital services are necessary - well, maybe only necessary if you want to build dumb projects like Willets Point and 2 stadiums.

A Bigger Taxpayer has swallowed the Kool-Aid.

Ok, let's re-phrase - the heads of the Juniper Civic voiced their opinions that they wanted Gallagher to win election. Your silly statement doesn't make a difference to the end point.

So you think people are just not reporting murders? Sure . . .

The students are passing State tests, not city tests. So you're wrong again . . .

So you think that "all the City's eggs" are in "real estate"? You don't think that finance, media, or entertainment are big sectors in NYC? Health care? Hmm, wrong again . . .

If you were the biggest taxpayer, you would be Mike Bloomberg. I don't think so.

Far too many leaders, civic or otherwise.

Murders are up in Queens North, genius.

Healthcare? 3 closed hospitals within 6 months.

Yeah, great job!

Murders are up since Bloomberg took office? Umm, no. Another wrong statement by the Crapper crowd . . .

"...police data shows Northern Queens saw a jump in homicides and rapes.

Home invasions and gang activity also seem to be on the rise in certain parts."

Anonymous said...

Sounds like a successful crime policy. Less cops + more people = more crime

Anonymous said...

What in God's name is that hideous picture adjoining this story, and what the hell does it have to do with the story in question? Is it Bloomie in drag???

Anonymous said...

Less cops + more illegals + more gangs = more crime. See how it works now, all you genius elected officials?

Anonymous said...

Murders in Queens North precincts are down 15.4% since eight years ago. It's tough when facts get in the way of your biases.

Anonymous said...

Murders are down, but on their way back up. That's what happens when you overdevelop the place, bring in the illegals and cut the police force.

It's tough when facts get in the way of your blind love of Bloomberg.

Anonymous said...

So your predicting the future is now "fact"? Ok, I'll make a prediction - murders will go back down in the future. Great, now we have a new fact.

If you want to leave your land of make-believe for a minute, the numbers speak for themselves - murders are down significantly since Bloomberg has been in office.

Stop debating amoung yourselves and go on the ATTACK!

People have to PUBLICLY question their position with the cameras rolling and the reporters present and report back to ol Crappy the results.

Let us make the Viceroy of NY hide in his barracks and any Royalists quiver behind closed doors!!

Take the Village Square Lads!

It is fact that murder and home invasions are up in much of Queens. Reported on NY1 this morning, in fact.

1. Shootings are up, no matter what the precinct CO's tell you. The fact that the recent victims have been lucky enough to survive isn't too comforting to me.
2. Ask any rank and file cop, and they will tell you that the stats are bullshit. The precinct CO's are finding creative ways of keeping their homicide #'s down. Alot of actual homicides are being classified as a catch-all "Investigate DOA". Result; it doesn't get listed as a homicide. Don't believe everything Bloomberg and Kelly are feeding you.

Murders are down significantly since Dinkins left office, that doesn't mean that crime isn't now on an upswing. If you regularly ride mass transit, you will notice A LOT more homelss and beggars. I've notice slightly more vandalism and graffitti.

LOOK, IF THERE ARE SO MANY PEOPLE OUT THERE FOR TONEY, PROVE IT!

YOU HAVE TO BE WILLING TO "ACT UP"

ASK THEM EVERY CHANCE YOU GET.

HARRY THEM OUT OFF THE PLATFORM. WRITE LETTERS TO THE EDITOR.

Who are these people? How important are they in the communnity?

Will anyone listen to what they say?

-----------------------------------
The numbers DO NOT speak for themselves. They are fudged by police commanders pressured by higher-ups who don't want to look bad at compstat meetings, and who are under pressure from the mayor's office to keep up the illusion that the mayor is keeping crime down with ten thousand less cops than we had pre 9/11.

Anonymous said...

A balanced assessment of Bloomberg's role in reducing crime would have to give him some credit for keeping Ray Kelly on. As for Compstat, it has provided an incentive for precinct commanders to downgrade their stats, but it also has motivated them to elicit more aggressive action from their cops. Whatever Bloomberg's contribution, broader economic and demographic changes probably have played a more important role.

Anonymous said...

Stop wasting time on arguing these points.

How do we go after these people - and discourage others from doing the same?

-----------------------------------
And when that wonderful motivational staregy failed to yield the desired results, the precinct commanders panicked and began to fudge the numbers, in order to protect their asses.

Correction: All four heavily endorsed the pink councilperv, Gallagher.
Every one of these so-called civic leaders are asswipes.

John Galt said...

Juniper Civic made Gallagher man of the year about five years ago, if I recall. It was disgraceful, but I give them credit for realizing the man was a morally bankrupt ass-wipe long before he anyone else did, and for publicizing it instead of continuing to lick his ass clean like the spineless driveling puppets that started that other phony civic for him. And this was long before he proved it to the world by his drunken forcing of a grandmother.

Sal Candela cannot endorse any candidate acting as president Of the Middle Village Property Owners/ Residents Assn. Our by-laws prohibit the endorsement of any political candidate.

Anonymous said...

Then it looks like he needs to step down.

Certainly a letter to the papers - and to the maya!

Especially if it violates your by-laws ... or even worse, your tax status!

As to the others, any digging on the Blumturd Foundation, etc etc?

Isn't Sal Candela and Tania Broschart One? They are the worst kept secret in the area.
Hope she's more up front at Astoria Federal where she works then her running around at Night with Candela. Not nice to leave your husband at home.
