Former Mets pitcher a real jerk

From the NY Post:

Former Mets relief pitcher Ambiorix Burgos is going to the pen - not the bullpen - after he was sentenced today to nine months behind bars for beating his girlfriend in a Queens hotel.

Burgos, 24, was convicted in Queens supreme court last month of the September 2008 assault after the woman had tried to leave their room to go register her young daughter for school.

Burgos, who weeks later was accused of killing two women in his native Dominican Republic by running them over with his Hummer, still faces charges there.

Why did the DR police let this madman keep his passport? Undue influence by important Americans?

After OJ Simpson was put on trial for the murder of his wife and her Mr. Goldman, a friend stated, crudely but accurately, "If you are rich, you can slaughter your B*tch. I guess it applies here too.

Maybe he can run for Monserrate's position when he gets out of jail.

That would be a close match - they both are equally qualified.

And a neighbor told me that Monserrate ran someone down too. If true, great minds think alike.

QueensCrap: You've censored so much benign, and relevant, content on this blog – yet you allow ignorant and shameful commentary like the above to remain. Please realize that there are avid readers of your blog that don’t care to read these types of remarks. This is a place I come for grass roots information about our borough. I don’t expect to be subjected to senseless racism and bigotry. These kinds of remarks are being posted way too often now. Thank you in advance for curbing the OFFENSIVE and IRRELEVANT commentary in the future – and maybe leaving some of the relevant, however combative, commentary up for reading.

Didn't realize the term "banana head" which basically means "jackass" was offensive. I suggest you get a life, banana head.

I don’t expect to be subjected to senseless racism and bigotry......blah blah blah......Must be one of those "Moderators" from Astorians. Probably also a card carrying lefty, maybe even a member of the ACLU. The tip off is the cliche "grass roots". I'm surprised he didn't throw in other lefty buzz words such as "hate speech" "person of color", etc. etc.

He's got himself in a lather over a silly comment on a blog, but probably doesn't even care about the behavior of the former Mets pitcher. He probably thinks to himself: "I shouldn't be judgemental. It's probably part of his "culture"."

Now who's the "bigot"???

Yes. I agree. While I am often disappointed at the vulgarity needlessly employed on this site, the reality is that this is an adult site for adult concerns, not bowdlerized pap for children.

I am amazed that people hone in on rough language while completely ignoring examples of the most depraved behavior.

wow, maybe the owners of the baseball league should do background checks before bringing their sorry asses to AMERICA. I can't believe he has cases back in his country and they allowed him to come over here, i guess they wanted to let go of the crap. Banana head is not a racist remark, just another term for stupid and if you don't like what your reading maybe you shouldn't come on to this site, here in Queens we said it as we please.
