CUNY exposes City's dereliction of duty

So here's something funny...CUNY-TV, the cable television station of The City University of New York, airs a show called "Independent Sources". Reporter Abi Ishola visited Willets Point last month and drew attention to how neglected the roads are by the Departments of Transportation and Sanitation.

I think I know whose budget Bloomberg's going to cut next...

Here's more on the lack of snow plows from Willets Point United.

Nice to see. A face to one of the businesses being tossed out. Aww no quote from a developer that says they can turn the place into Eden.

Isn't CUNY behind the waterfront access Shithead/Shulman Memorial Bridge plan to Willets Point?

I guess that burgeoning Flushing/Chinatown needs room for expansion.

H-m-m-m....Jay Valgora, of "Studio V", (a la RKO Keith's/ Boymelgreen redux)
seems to have cribbed a portion of the "Coalition For A Planned Flushing's" master plan but moved the bridge further north!

Tsk, tsk, tsk...naughty, naughty!

Shulman refused to recognize
that original master plan...
the work of an international award winning design firm!

Put that Bovine bitch out to pasture already!

Let her chew her cud in retirement instead of stealing millions of taxpayers' dollars.

The rotten Claire fruit doesn't fall far from the Manes tree
(her former corrupt boss)!

Anonymous went to CUNY - bs ss.
I (like very few other CUNY alum on this blog) stick up for my former university and its students.

I am a Queens College Grad. I had a Rhodes Scholar in my graduating class, and I was able to graduate free and clear of debt by working during my time there--something few can accomplish today.

The CUNY system has an illustrious reputation going back to the 1930's and has produced many worthy individuals. CUNY deserves respect and support.

Claire pimped
the "Arverne By The Sea" development.

That went south...
hopefully along with her
Willets Point hand job!

Please pardon my ignorance, but doesn't the CUNY system serve city residents? When did they start building dorms? Never in my day.

I also go to CUNY, and I'm proud of my university. Go public school!

Why? Do you find something wrong with a dorm for CUNY students?

Queens Crapper said...

Why would they need a dorm if they are City residents? I went to CUNY back in the 1990s and the only dorm that I knew of at my school was on the top couple of floors and totally on campus. And if they are doctoral students, I would think they would rather live near the campus than in another borough.

That dumb dorm in LIC will be for undergrads, prowling Vernon for bars. Don't believe the hype.

And this posting is about Willets Point; let's not change the subject. The CUNY dorm post is another thread.

Did you not just comment that:

"It's about anything that impacts Queens." ???

No, I was asked what this BLOG was about. This POST is about Willets Point. Do you not understand the difference between a blog and a post?

It really is disgraceful not only the condition of the roads, etc., there, but also that the Bloomberg Administration is so willing to destroy thousands of jobs.

Go Abi! It's nice that someone connected to the City is honest.

I love it. Absolutely love it.

I think this entire charade is about to come to an end soon and this project will end up in the dustbin of history just like all those that came before it.

CUNY did a good job on this story and youtube as well. Thank God for alternative media. The big newspapers, television and radio have all been co-opted by corporate interests and no longer represent ordinary folk.
