Victim plants kiss on Hiram in court

From the Daily News:

In a Queens courtroom, Karla Giraldo smooched the man accused of slashing her face with a broken glass, while Supreme Court Justice William Erlbaum was in another room.

Erlbaum was watching a video that - according to prosecutors - showed Monserrate yanking a bleeding Giraldo in the stairwell of his building.

Word of the brazen buss stunned Giraldo's lawyer, who was in the bathroom when it happened.

"Did you kiss him in the courtroom?" attorney Glenn Marshall asked her later.

"It's been a long time," Giraldo replied in Spanish.

Marshall shook his head in apparent disbelief as they walked back to their cars.

It was not clear if Erlbaum was aware of the kiss, but when he returned to the courtroom he upheld a full order of protection - and ordered Monserrate to stay away from Giraldo.

He's a politician, so he'll get over. The laws don't apply to them. They are allowed to break the laws. Politicians = Criminals.
They are all crooked.

Maybe if she is smart it is the kiss of death and their is a hitman in his future.

"Karla=Rihanna. Love your abuser."

Good one.

I'm just wondering what he offered her in order for her to stick around. Especially in court yesterday with that phony display of affection. Don't her stitches remind her everyday when she looks in the mirror what an a#@hole he is? This guy's lucky she's not my friend. I would have tormented her to leave him. I don't care who he is.

By the way, with those sunglasses on, she looks a lot like Mariah Carey.

Yes, I'm certain he was shocked. He probably thought she would deliver the kiss only for more money.

I was neighbor to an abused woman. She had a string of boyfriends, each who beat her into senselessness. She would cry, and I would tell her to dump them. Eventually, each would be out of the picture (sadly enough, still alive), and she would take up with still another abuser.

Eventually, I concluded that this pairing of abuser and victim is no accident. They seek each other out, recognize the signals, and then play their selected roles until they tire and move along to another pairing. Friendly observers have no influence at all over this behavior. The victim seems determined to be abused over and over.

There is much the same insane psychology at work in politics. It's pretty much the reason we get corrupt candidates like Gallagher, the Commissar, Monster Rat, and all those open liars who repeatedly get the votes of the same moronic voters.

By the way, the abused woman mentioned above, used to boast or gloat after election day that she had voted for the corrupt candidate.

I soooo agree with that. I also had a friend who would seek out these losers who would not hit her but but verbally and emotionally abuse her. She would turn to me for advice. She wasn't able to fuction at work, anywhere. And I of course would tell leave him, Leave Him, LEAVE HIM!!!!
She never listened.
I think guys can find themselves in abusive relationship also. I've seen a few guys I know being bullied, manipulated and even slapped by their wives. It's the same. It's all abuse.
I think certain people are turned on by abusive, controlling people. Maybe it all depends on what kind of relationship their parents had and what they grew up with.

Gavin DeBecker, consultant to the Secret Service and renowned security expert wrote in his book, "The Gift of Fear," a series of tests all predators use to size up victims before they strike.

These include creating a false sense of being part of a team, and ignoring the word, "No".

I recommend this book to everyone who would like to avoid being mugged, raped or abused.

The soap opera drama that spews, like a broken sewer main, from Tammany Hall (Queens Style) should be a comedy.

That this element runs the borough of Queens, and has a big influence in millions of lives, is a tragedy.

I think people love to read about this kind of stuff. It makes them feel better about their own lives.

Would it have been any fun to be reading about these two being high school sweethearts and getting married today? No! People would rather read about a freshly elected senator and the prospect of him going to jail. THAT'S what sells newspapers. And people will debate why she's standing by her man 'til the cows come home.

Earlbaum is the right judge for this case. He hates violence. You could walk into his court room smoking a joint and he wouldn't blink. But lay a smack on someone and you're finished. Glad he got the matter.

Italiangirl. It is not that people love to read about this nonsense. It is that rational people are appalled by the violence inflicted upon women who are so dysfunctional that they accept it as normal. The evil dance of abuser and abused leads to more violence and in many cases death. We must encourage women and men in these situations to seek professional help to end the cycle.

All of us have weaknesses that the evil can exploit. I just finished watching a program called, "American Greed." How many of us would like to believe in bank accounts offshore that pay 250% or brand new BMWs for $1,000.?

So many times it is the ones we love or our own misplaced faith that does us in.

This girl must have taken too many slaps to the head from her boyfriend. To kiss him in court indicates to me that she needs help. At the end of the day she has to look at her scars and remember what he did to her. It's a shame. He'll walk. He's a politician. Nothing happens to them when they break the law.

Hhen push comes to shove,i'll bet that H-Rat takes the plea.If the judge thought the video to be damning, what will a jury think?? He will insist he is innocent and the plea is in the best interest of justice............

This is a case of "Love is Blind"
and down right stupid.
She probably like being in the political limelight with Her Man. So she will do anything to stay there, even taking a few clocks to the kruller.

Good Luck with that honey!!!

Giraldo- a terrible mariah carey impersonator

At least Mariah had Jeter at one point. All Karla managed to get was a hot-headed politician - and a black eye.

Kiss of death, Kiss of death, Kiss of death now!

Where are the old school wiseguys when we need them? He needs new cement shoes.

Mariah Carey: "Touch my Body"

Karla Giraldo: "And beat it, too!"

they both are lying pigs! and karla is an ass to kiss up to him, guess she doesn't want to give up her life style, what a fool. one day she'll look back at her life and wish she would of followed through, she'll have to live with this and know everyone is talking about her. wake up karla he'll do it again.

If you have ever seen an abused woman, you would find this entire scene highly offensive.

A friend of mine was left crippled for life by an abusive man and then her savings were destroyed as she fought the maniac for custody of her daughter.

Even worse than Karla are these "community leaders" who insist that Monserrate cannot be an abuser.

Street angel house devil, anyone?

lmao. That was a good one.

Hey Karla:
I have some advice for you if you want to keep Your Man happy.
Don't go out unless you are chaperoned. When you do, make sure you cover yourself with some sort of head scarf. And make sure you never, ever look another man in the eyes. If you can follow this code of beahvior, Your Man will never cut you again.

God bless! You're gonna need it.

Don't knock the Middle Eastern crazies. In Iran yesterday a man who had thrown acid in a woman's eyes and left her blind and disfigured was sentenced to being anesthesized and having his eyelids held open while 20 drops of acid were placed in each eye.

Imagine how Hiram would look with a beer bottle ground into his eye socket.
