From The Real Deal:The New York City Economic Development Corporation has selected the Rockaway Waterfront Alliance to redevelop the former Rockaway Beach Boulevard Firehouse at 58-03 Rockaway Beach Boulevard in Queens. The environmental advocacy and educational organization plans to spend about $2 million to create the Rockaway Institute for Sustainable Environment, which will be the organization's permanent home. The alliance currently operates out of local schools and other community spaces.
