Transition officials announced Friday that Barack Obama's mother-in-law, Marian Robinson, 71, will be moving to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. to help "acclimate" the Obama daughters, Malia and Sasha, to their new home.
"She will determine in the coming months whether or not she wants to stay in D.C. permanently," said transition spokeswoman Katie McCormick Lelyveld.
Make room for the mother-in-law! First Grandma moving into the White House
If only he knew this back before he decided to run, it may have altered the course of history...

President Obama would probably appreciate having their daughters' grandmother there to help with the huge transition they face. The hated mother-in-law joke is an old cliche.
Lighten up, commenter #1. That photo is priceless.
She looks like a nasty person.
Yes, yes... look's nasty. Lets judge by looks! She must be a very nasty person!

I take it that you work as a psychic for a living.
Hello, most judgments are made by sizing up a person's facial expressions and body language. From this photo, neither party appears to be thrilled with the other.

Bam's face looks as though he just realized that he has to visit Biden in order to do any male bonding.
There hasn't been a little boy in the White House since 1963.

I wonder if President elect Obama will offer a room to his illegal alien aunt?
blah, blah, blah
It seems as though none of you Obama-haters can stand that there may just be some good things to come. So, he wants his mother-in-law to help with the kids. So what. I'd want my mom too. You think hired help us going to care as much as family would? I don't think so.

Yes its a real close relationship like Kenny boy Lay,and Brownie your doing a heck of a job in New Orleans.
More than 900 cases regarding billions of dollars of government contractors and drugmakers have defrauded taxpayers out of billions of dollars have been shelved. It appears that the Bush administration has put a kind of moratorium on fraud investigations.
Bush justice department officials have decided not to enforce Qui Tam laws, and fail to investigate charges brought by whistle-blowers, according to lawyers involved in the disputes.
The war against fraud in Iraq and Afghanistan disputes has erupted publicly. Two former employees of Defense contractor Custer Battles accused the company of inflating expenses while replacing the Iraqi currency. After a three-week trial in 2006, a jury found in favor of the plaintiffs and awarded them $10 million. But U.S. District Judge T.S. Ellis III later tossed out the case, claiming that the money was owed to the Iraqis, not to the US , even though it was the US government underwriting the very contracts at issue.
