Pre-fab crap

Great news for those who like modern crap-style houses. They now come mostly assembled. And even better news - you can still pave over your lawn and park your car on it!

Modern prefab comes to NY

Oh boy. This reminds me of a program I was watching a while back in which multiple steel shipping containers were used to construct homes. If you think this is bad, just do a google search on 'Steel Container House' and then you can really have some fun. This is basically the same thing what with the corrugated facade.

While I will admit it is an interesting concept, it is crap in practice. These things have no place in an urban environment with houses so close to one another.

I would rather my neighborhood not look like an intermodal freight yard, thank you.

Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse.........

At $1.5 million, it proves that money and taste are an unnatural pair.

That house looks like a small version of the self-storage facility I'm using for the summer.

The home is currently on the market for $1.495 million!

Can you say housing bubble, fellow NYers? Only some slumlord would buy that piece of crap, subdivide it and rent it out to illegal immigrants.

I'm still fazed by the total denial of the nationwide housing bubble that's going on in NYC. Housing prices are entirely divorced from income... what can't continue, won't continue.

But it will. The clubhouse has a giganitc neon sign over Queens that says WELCOME!

Until everyone that can live in a container moves here (something like a billion or so?) you will have immigrantion driving up costs and driving down quality.

Oh well, maybe I should consider moving to a less "vibrant" place than Ridgewood. I'm thinking Buffalo or Rochester, or maybe somewhere in Ohio or Indiana...

Gag!

I've seen better looking regulation Board of Education modular classrooms thrown together in our public schoolyards!
