DOH closes Club Kahlua

Club At Center Of Sean Bell Shooting Closed

NEW YORK -- The Queens nightclub where an unarmed man was shot and killed by police in 2006 has been shut down, officers said.

Sean Bell was killed outside the Kahlua strip club after a bachelor party.

The club was closed this week by the health department when it was cited for multiple violations, including unsanitary food surfaces. Health officials said there was evidence of mice and misplaced safety signs.

The move comes several months after the club lost its liquor license.

Why do they keep mentioning this club. Yes a traggic thing happened here, but why is it that every time the slightest thing happens at this place...it has to be plastered all over the news? Is this going to become a national monument? The health department closes tons of places down for various reasons and they dont get this much air time. I am so sick of hearing about this place.

Anything to get Sean Bell sleeping with the rest of the dust bunnies under the rug as soon as possible I suppose. Great...

The interesting thing about this is that although the club was operating in a building that supposedly has a C of O for a store, the DOH was the one that closed it down, not DOB.

Surprise, surprise.

I hear there is going to be a Hooters where the old Future Diner (where Bill Clinton dined twice) was in Fresh Meadows.

I guess Bill will be revisiting it now that tits will be one of the features.

Maybe Kahlua can be replaced with a Starbucks?
