Parachute Jump refurbishing pricey

Taxpayers are shelling out a staggering $4 million for a redesign of the historic Coney Island Parachute Jump - and that's even before construction begins.

The price tag at the 2.2-acre site - which would be spread among eight design firms, including lighting experts and water specialists - is triple the average cost for a typical city project, architects told the Daily News.

This is a relic
of the 1939 Worlds' Fair.

Let's move it back to Queens.

Maybe that's the only
way we can gain another landmark.

Yes,
the Parachute Jump
is an official NYC Landmark
along with the "Cyclone"
and "Wonder Wheel".

The new refurbishing may be pricey, but it is well worth it. To see this official NYC Landmark operating again would draw thousands to Coney Island. The public is waiting and the Honorable Mr. Markowitz is doing all he can to jumpstart this thrilling icon of the past.

Why, just to gaze in awe at this structure from the beautiful boardwalk is a sight in itself.

Keep up the good work Marty, and we are all awaiting the outcome of the Famous Coney Island Parachute Jump!!!!!!
