The glass menagerie in LIC

This is the scene steps from Court Square. Of course, that building in the middle of it all is slated for demolition, to be replaced with a hulking piece of glass shit similar to the others.

United Nations Federal Credit Union,

The UN should be ashamed of itself - something simliar to ethnic cleansing is going on in a community just accross the river. No wait, how about right next door.

Where is the Iranian or Venesuelan embassador? Pick up a page from the developers, boys!

I think for a few dollars pumped into the community you can get a lot of milage.

I love it. Drive out all those loser Archie Bunker types. Off to the Poconos with you and good riddance!!

I would love to know which features of this building you aren't please with, exactly.

Not enough cement, maybe?

Building is OK, definitely not something I'd chain myself to in order to save.

Archie Bunker, blah, blah. Can you people dig down deep and find a little tiny bit of creativity when you attempt to insult the people who were born and raised here?

These posts are repetitive and BORING. Same old developer trolls making the same old idiotic comments. I feel sorry for you people.

That's the best part. I was raised here. i grew up in Ridgewood abnd I still live in Glendale. I just cannot wait for all of you ignorant, closed minded assholes to leave.
Archie Bunker's off to West Virginia with you!!!

I can't wait until we can have an intelligent discussion without the name-calling.

What exactly is it about the destruction of this building that anybody would be excited about?

I guess your windows are not 5 feet away from some 15 story monster built by someone who does not vote or pay taxes in your district.

You live in Glendale. that explains A LOT.

"I guess your windows are not 5 feet away from some 15 story monster built by someone who does not vote or pay taxes in your district."

My window is several feet away from a fresh piece of crap being illegally constructed, actually.

But I think you may have misunderstood my question. I was asking why would anybody on this forum would be so exuberant about the demolition of this building. Does a man in a pink hat stroll to your front door and hand you a quarter every time a century-old building is razed in the borough?

Comparing this gorgeous structure to the crap around it is like comparing Beethoven to Britney Spears. If you think what is going to replace this building is an improvement, you are simply wrong.

Britney Spears sells more albums than Beethoven so you tell me who is better.
