I have been cutting down these for at least 5 years. I rip them down when I'm going to work, the store, walking the dog, etc. If everyone in the neighborhood took 10 seconds out their day you would never see them.
I'm no spring chicken and I can do it. Care about your neighborhood and use the time you waste complaining and do something constructive.

It really annoys me that local real estate concerns have advertised on the vintage lampposts on Myrtle Ave. Talk about a lousy neighbor.
