From CBS 2:
Sources tell CBS 2 HD that federal prosecutors are getting ready to indict the embattled Bronx politician on a raft of charges relating to his use of money from his Soundview healthcare empire for his personal and political use.
One potential charge is mail fraud, sources said.
As CBS 2 HD first reported last summer, Espada sent out political mailings believed to have been paid for with money from the health clinic. The political mailings had the same postage permit number as the Soundview clinic -- reportedly a no-no.
But that's not all. The state Democratic Party is trying to give Espada the bum's rush. They want him out of the party. In part because, as CBS 2 HD first told you, he doesn't live in his Bronx district. He lives in Mamaroneck.
They don't want him out because he doesn't live in his district. They want him out because he is one of the gang of four that voted with the Republicans last year. Please get your facts straight.

Good, throw him out. His "coup" last year was well timed to derail consumer and tenant legislation that was set to pass and be sign ed by Paterson. These laws would have finally returned NYC's rent laws to the citizen of our city and out of the hands of that dysfunctional hick town known as our capitol.
A large amount of money was thrown at that shithouse..I mean Statehouse in an attempt to stall these bills and thanks to the self interests of crud's like Espada they have, for now, succeeded. Those of you who rent in this city can thank this POS for his efforts.
All that aside, if he doesn't actually reside in his district there is a valid case for expulsion.
he should return money too. I'm not happy with him just being ousted.
it is time to rescind the n.y.c. and n.y.s. pensions that these mostly democrat crooks keep when the get jailed.
if convicted ,clean their clocks.
wishful thinking .who will be the first pol to address this issue?
please go after Jerry G. Love, and his mother, Sondra Love, Espada's girlfriend. and co defendant.
they are employed by the Senate to help people in Espada's office. they only help themselves. to two paychecks. one from Soundview and one from the NYS senate.
