Park patrol cut

From the Daily News:

Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, a popular and busy spot for people looking for relief from steamy summer streets, will no longer have its own police patrol, Queens News has learned.

Instead, cops patrolling other parts of the 110th Precinct and borough task force units will keep an eye on activity in the sprawling 1,255-acre park.

The dedicated detail was pulled due to staffing woes at the 110th Precinct, sources said.

City police officials downplayed the impact of the change, saying the park will still have a strong law enforcement presence.

Parks Department officials said they had not been told of any change in NYPD coverage at Flushing Meadows-Corona Park.

This will be a disaster! What the hell are they thinking?

They barely have enough cops in the precincts to patrol the streets, never mind the park. And they aren't replacing retiring cops with new ones because their budget only allows for new police classes of 100-200 recruits every six months to a year. That's what the hell they are thinking.

The money has to go to sustain the real estate industry and development.

Next question.

Flushing Meadows-Corona Park Had a police patrol ?

What a crock if shit !
I Bike in that park and never seen em once.
Bums are passed out or deficating everyplace you can smell them 300 yards away.
The LIRR ROW must have 100's of illegals living on it. They howl up a frenzy everty time a famale walks down 111 street.
The patrols are in the park only when the US open is in town.
They protect the TV production trailors and bust people with professional cameras, steal media cards.

"Park patrol cut"
Translation = Less cops for the US Open.
The photo above is likley stock footage.

heh heh

Thats what you get when you are a bunch of sheep. No one will get called to task. No one will lose their office.

And you know that someone will get killed. You know that people will start to avoid this place like the plague.

Schools are a joke. Hospitals closed. Street and sidewalks get congested. Homes get chopped up.

And there is nothing you can do about it as you pay taxes that go straight into the pockets of the developers.

What does QCC say about this?

Don't you worry, they will have just as many, if not more cops this year during the US Open. They will simply pull them from precincts all over the city, drasticly reducing the already pathetically low number of patrol cops on the street. The Open makes somewhere around 700 million, you can bet Bloomberg is going to make sure his cronies are well protected during their two week slumming excursion to an outer borough. All this while the rest of the city implodes.

Guaranteed there will be another very serious crime committed in FMCP before the summer is through. Then they will put back the patrols...temporarily again.

(With sucking sounds being made in the background).

"Chika, chika, chika"!

So now maybe those local vibrant adolescents passing for grown up men can more easily insult and assault women.

I wouldn't go near certain areas of that park even before these newly proposed cuts!

Good luck borough hall's pussy boy Jeffrey Rosenstock.

Now your venue will really be known as "Theater In The Dark"!

Oh, but I'm sure that NYC's premiere park....Central Park....won't be denied protection.

Otherwise it's back to the 70s!

Are you taking notes Central Park Conservancy?

Oh....be sure that the USTA will provide enough security during the U.S. Open.

That's a big meal ticket!

Besides....there's a direct access route to the stadium with no need to traverse the wilds of the park.

It looks like it's back to those nostalgic days gone by (until now) of "wilding' when bands of brigands roamed the parks in search of victims to mug.

Fire the parks commissioner and you have a small fortune to provide patrols.

WTF does he do anyway besides spend his "long days" jerking off at "The Arsenal"?

This is good news...

For old Chinese men fishing in the ponds to sell at the market later on.

For hispanic rapists looking for a lay.

For the homeless off their meds to jerk off in front of children.
