The official tally of Bloomberg's election spending

From the Daily News:

All told, Mayor Bloomberg contributed $400,000 last year to the city Independence Party, which allowed him to run for the third time on its ballot line and again provided him with his margin of victory on Election Day.

That's $150,000 more than the $250,000 the mayor ponied up to the party in 2005.

From Crains:

An updated campaign finance report from Mayor Michael Bloomberg shows he spent more than $108 million on his campaign to win a third term.

The report includes generous bonuses for staff, including $400,000 for his campaign manager.

The billionaire had already shattered his own spending records. His third-term bid was the most expensive self-financed political campaign in U.S. history.

Mike Bloomberg is a little troll and had to buy votes by brianwashing the majority of the voters. It's a shame that these voters are'nt educated on the real issues. His staff of workers desrve the money, they did their job. They filled alot of minds with the name "Mike Bloomberg". I just hope Bloomberg does his and this time for the people. I doubt it very much but we are stuck with this troll for another term. Let's hope for the best, maybe the council members will grow some balls.

Why didn't he just give us the cash to vote for him. I could have put the money toward my property taxes or my water bill.
