SCA lies on DOB permit application

Yep, we're back on that Maspeth high school again.

On April 2, 2009, the City Council authorized the agency to purchase the property, using eminent domain if necessary.

On April 3, 2009, the School Construction Authority's engineer filed an application for an ALT-2 DOB permit for 54-44 74th Street, aka the Maspeth High School site. On this application, he stated that the School Construction Authority not only owned the property, but that the 4-story school was already constructed. As you can see, this is not what's currently at the site.

Application disapproved.

This shows how the SCA will cheat in order to get that school built.

Im glad Crowley is in office to protect our community. Pinky and/or Phony Tony Como would only make things worse.

It's time for martial law.....

Why should this be different from any other corrupt building site. On my block where there is an open, unguarded pit with a 30 foot-deep foundation just waiting for a curious child, DOB permits announced that a building had been demolished many years earlier.

Actually, the builder removed a perfectly livable house within the last two years. Probably he was trying to grandfather something that is now illegal.

dizzzy lizzy should've looked into all possible disadvantages of this site before she voted. only goes to show how inexperienced she really is........ and what about the cell towers at the stop-n-store roof across from the site, they are pointing right at the site. do they plan on removing them? or does the S.C.A. plan on ignoring these issues just to spend money??????

Why does the SCA think it can lie to us with total impunity? Why does DOB fail to catch the lie?

For starters, to whom do they report? The Commissar.

For whom does the Commissar dance? The UFT.

Who else is under the control of the UFT? Quinn, The council members and the community boards.

The UFT's tentacles reach the Governor, the Senate and the Assembly. [No, not their testicles. They have none!]

Our voice is far weaker. When we each act alone. When we coordinate our efforts, we can control them all.

As November 3 nears, ask some questions: What valuable service to the community's youngsters has been supplied by:
The UFT? The Commissar? Quinn? The council members? Your own council member? DOE? SCA? Community Boards?
These so-called CECs? Your youngsters' teacher? Principal?

Zip. Nada. Zilch. Zero. These people have delivered nothing but misery to our youngsters, while elbowing each other's snout from the trough.

And they want to remain in control. That's how to get rich. Be in control.

Now, you and I must take control. Use November 3 wisely.

How can the SCA claim it owns property it doesn't? Where is the Department of Investigation?

Another example of the rampant lawlessness that's permitted under the Bloomberg administration.

More to follow...I'm sure!

Dump that despot at the polls!

Hey...I am just glad to see that the DOB disapproved it! Give some credit where credit is (might be?) due!!

This should be reported to the Health Department, the Department of Education, the Mayor's Office, the City Council, the Federal Government and the CDC. The SCA is trying to pull a fast one on the general public -- especially on the children. Why tempt fate and expose these kids to hazardous toxins? Dump this school plan and use alternative sites. Don't endanger the children. In this budget crises, don't add on additional millions of dollars to remedy this site. Leave it as is, so these toxins are not exposed to the air. Later on, when the economy is better, let the owners remedy their toxic situation.

yes gumba Como wasn't going to help.

Why isn't there any media coverage on this story? This should be covered by the Daily News, NY Post, NY Times. Why hasn't anyone reported this on the 6:00 news? The SCA is trying to pull a fast one on the taxpayers. Why would anyone want their child to go to school at a toxic site? The city doesn't even own the property, yet they want to spend millions to purchase it via eminent domain. What is wrong with this picture? Where is Mayor Bloomburg, the Health Department, the CDC, the Governor, Our Assemblywoman? Doesn't anyone care about Maspeth or the children? Someone -- Anyone -- Pay Attention! This is a very serious matter.

Corwley Voted NO. I dont understand you people. The italians have been running this district ever since i could remember; Only helping themselves and their firends.

Now, we actually have one of us in the council and your still no happy.

You people are really stupid. Remember what you had before, I sure do.

Not sure what this is supposed to mean. Irish? We had an Irish jerk named Gallagher who opened the door to this and an Irish lass named Crowley who pushed it through. So looks like Irish is not the way to go either.

Anonymous said...

No. Thats not the point. This area was dominated by the italians. it stands for something more than the ethincity.

I voted for crowley because she was not part of this culture. I will vote for her again for that reason.

The Crowleys are the godfathers of the Queens Machine and prior to them it was Manton. So I am not sure what you are talking about.

That because the aplication is for FA type which means Fire Alarm only. It's not for NB or Alteration which may be filed under different BIN or address.
Get your facts straight.

Hey jackass, the point is the SCA does not own the building and they are listed as the owners. WTF?

It's also listed as a 4-story building when it's not.

Liar Liar Pants On Fire. Time to fire the SCA. They are useless and will go to any extreme to get what they want. Someone is getting paid off to build this school. They don't even own the property and want to take over this toxic site through eminent domain. Are they kidding? Time to get rid of this organization. Fire all of them and start from scratch.

How can this possibly be? the SCA hasn't even purchased the property yet? It's amazing how much the city bull shits and gets away with it. Time to put a stop on this kind of practice bloomberg and his nose dipper(Quinn) need to go away.

Dizzy Lizzy sold out Maspeth. She thinks that by voting no on the school that she looks good. She delivered nothing for Maspeth and couldn't even get the votes of fellow council members. She didn't try and now she's trying to downplay the toxic problem of the site by saying all industrial sites have toxic levels. Does she know how much toxicity is on the site?
No but she continues to put her foot in her mouth. She's just too dumb for words.
